Old Flames Reignite? A Tender Embrace, Sultry Smiles, and Scandalous Speculation

The ex-spouses, who were married from 2002 to 2006 and share two grown daughters, Lola, 20, and Sami, 21, were seen cozying up on the red carpet like a couple straight out of the early 2000s—but with none of the old tension.

Sheen, 59, looked refined and relaxed in a dark checkered blazer over a crisp white shirt, paired with jeans and casual shoes. But it was Richards, 53, who stole the spotlight, flaunting her age-defying figure in a shimmering black crop top with sheer detailing and sleek, high-waisted satin trousers.

From Courtroom Chaos to Co-Parenting Peace: The Sheen-Richards Rollercoaster

It’s a far cry from their notoriously messy split—Richards filed for divorce from Sheen while six months pregnant with their daughter Lola in 2005. What followed was a bitter legal war, finally settled in 2006.

By that time, Richards had moved on with Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, while Sheen married and later divorced Brooke Mueller.

Despite the turmoil and tabloid firestorms, Richards tried to make peace, even extending a heartwarming gesture to Mueller: "She put together a bag with toys for her and the girls (Lola and Sam) along with a card telling her she's glad (Brooke) makes their father so happy," a source told PEOPLE at the time.

In time, the wounds began to heal—and a new chapter emerged.

"He's been supportive from day one," Richards told PEOPLE in February about Sheen’s reaction to her reality series, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things. "He saw the trailer and sent me such a wonderful sweet positive text. I was actually really surprised. It meant a lot to me."

Even more shockingly, Richards remains close with Mueller—and with Sheen’s twin sons, Bob and Max, now 15, whom she took in during Mueller’s public battle with addiction in 2013.

"I'm grateful we were able to help them during that time," Richards said. She revealed her home is still open to all, with Sheen, Mueller, and the boys regulars at family dinners. "Charlie is always invited to holiday dinners… I'm always, the more the merrier. I want everyone to get along and everyone to be peaceful."

Sex, Drugs, and Secrets: Charlie Sheen Drops Bombshells in New Doc and Memoir

But the red carpet reunion wasn’t the only thing lighting up headlines. Sheen’s two-part Netflix documentary and memoir, The Book of Sheen, promises to be as scandalous as the man himself.

In it, the former Two and a Half Men star opens up about his past sexual encounters with men, an explosive revelation he’s sharing publicly for the first time. "I flipped the menu over," he told PEOPLE.

When asked how it felt to be speaking publicly for the first time about having sex with men, he responded "Liberating. It's [expletive] liberating... [to] just talk about stuff. It's like a train didn't come through the side of the restaurant. A [expletive] piano didn't fall out of the sky. No one ran into the room and shot me."

The actor admitted these encounters started during his darkest periods of crack cocaine addiction. "That's what started it. That's where it was born, or sparked," he confessed.

He says years of denial and soul-searching followed. "In whatever chunks of time that I was off the pipe… trying to come to terms with it — 'Where did that come from?... Why did that happen?' — and then just finally being like, 'So what?' So what?"

"Some of it was weird. A lot of it was [expletive] fun, and life goes on."

Father-Daughter Rift and the Hope for Healing

Meanwhile, Sheen also addressed his complicated relationship with daughter Sami, who made headlines of her own after launching an OnlyFans account.

"I feel like as long as everybody's still in the game, there's always a shot for better tomorrow, you know?" Sheen said on Good Morning America. "I don't really know what I did… That's the problem. I don't know what I'm supposed to yet apologize for. But I have absolute faith that it's not a forever thing. And her and I will work it out.

"That's too valuable to let a, you know, some moment destroy all of that."

The Final Act—or a New Beginning?

The Book of Sheen releases September 9. aka Charlie Sheen hits Netflix on September 10. And whether Sheen and Richards are truly rekindling their once-fiery romance—or simply enjoying a rare moment of peace—it's clear:

This story isn't over.
