Simon Cowell is generally private about his personal life, but he once gave a tour of one of his Los Angeles homes. The house boasts five bathrooms and three bedrooms!

Simon Cowell is one of the many celebrities that own several properties. The "American Idol" star has homes in the United States and the United Kingdom because he split his time between the two countries.

However, he is a very private person and rarely shares much detail about his daily life. Luckily for his fans, he once took MTV on a tour of his Los Angeles, California home a few years back, although he does have another mansion in Malibu.

In 2002, Cowell appeared on "MTV Cribs" and showed off his mansion. The property came complete with three large bedrooms, five bathrooms, a gym, and a vast swimming pool.

When the star opened his door to welcome the cameras, a hallway was visible behind him. It boasted a giant white sprawling staircase that split into two when it reached the top of the landing.

THE DINING ROOM

The singing competition judge's hall also featured a brown table and a mirror near the left wall. The star then showed off the home office he had downstairs but apparently never used.

It contained some bookshelves, chairs, and a glass table with a chair where he could work. The color theme of the house outside and inside seemed to be mainly white and cream white, judging by the walls.

Next up, Cowell walked over to show his fans the white dining room just a walk away from his office. He joked that no one used the space, as well, because he didn't have anyone who wanted to eat with him.

The room had mirrors on the walls that reflected the table and chairs and some paintings. The television personality explained that he loved the home and its abstract decorations and noted that it had a good vibe.

THE KITCHEN

The next room on show was the star's kitchen. The space looked like it had some state-of-the-art appliances, and Cowell admitted that he never did the grocery shopping for his home and didn't know what was in his fridge.

When he opened it up to give his fans a glimpse, some sauces were visible, and he shared that HP sauce was a favorite in England and put on everything. He also showed off Cadbury Flake chocolate and some European-style rice pudding in a tub.

SOME OF HIS STAFF

Cowell also introduced his housekeeper, Orbelina, whom he claimed didn't like him much. The television star's friend, Terri, was next up, and she was apparently also his cook but hadn't cooked him anything yet.

The producer then showed off his home's bar and some of his favorite drinks. He joked that Terri lived in a basement-like structure accessible from a door placed in the middle of his bar.

THE LIVING ROOMS & FORMAL LIVING AREA

Cowell proudly took the cameras to see his two living areas. He started by revealing the one he liked the most and admitted that he wasn't sure why they had two of the same room because he never used the second one.

The white, cream white and brown theme was visible throughout the rooms he showed off. He also presented the formal living area and surprisingly revealed that they'd never used that room too!

THE MASTER BEDROOM

Up next was the master bedroom that was positioned on the left upstairs. The room boasted a big bed, some couches, a painting he hated (it looked like bacon and flowers to him), and a balcony.

The balcony opened up to the back garden, which held an impressively large swimming pool. Cowell said he sang or recited poetry like William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" before leaving the room.

The next room was the large and inviting bathroom. It held a big tub, and Cowell showed off all his vitamins and herbs that he took to stay healthy every day to help with his judging of hopeful musicians.

THE GARDENS

Going outside, the first thing the star showed off was his gray Mercedes SL500 that was parked close to the grass in the driveway. He revealed the car had seats with air conditioning, satellite navigation, and many other high-tech additions.

The star shared that he spent most of his time in the garden, which held the patio with a dining table and chairs. According to Cowell, it also had orange trees, and the swimming pool was the right temperature.

It was also reported that [Lauren] Silverman and [Simon] Cowell’s son [Eric Cowell] weren’t living in the home and wouldn’t be for a long time.

The television personality also revealed the hidden area upstairs on the roof where one could sunbathe without being seen or disturbed. The mogul concluded his tour with the camera's taking one more look throughout before Cowell said:

“I’d like to say it was fun, but it wasn’t. Bye.”

WHY SIMON'S SO PRIVATE

One of the reasons Cowell keeps his life out of the media is because the attention sometimes attracts the wrong people. Darren February, then-33, was convicted for stealing jewelry and other items from the star's west London home.

The items stolen in December 2015 were worth around $1.3 million. February, a serial burglar, denied breaking into the Holland Park house while Cowell and his family, partner Lauren Silverman and son Eric, slept.

BEEFING UP SECURITY

The thief allegedly stole from Cowell while the star's security guard was in the toilet. In February 2021, Daily Mail revealed that the star was upgrading the security measures at his London mansion.

The Sun said the music mogul secured a "blind spot" at the back entrance to the home. It was also reported that Silverman and Cowell's son wasn't living in the house and wouldn't be for a long time.
