Pierce Brosnan Never Stopped Loving His Wife and Stood by Her When She Was Shamed for Her Weight
Pierce Brosnan might be one of the most successful Irish actors, but it doesn't make him bully-proof, and a reality TV couple fat-shamed him and his wife on social media.
Although Pierce Brosnan's career spans more than four decades, he is best known for portraying secret agent James Bond in the eponymous film series between 1995 and 2002.
He is currently married to American journalist Keely Shaye Smith. The couple has understandably gained weight over the years, and they keep loving each other despite being victims of cyberbullying.

FINDING LOVE AFTER TRAGEDY
In 1980, before Brosnan made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, he married Australian actress Cassandra Harris. They had one son, Sean, and he also adopted her two older kids, Charlotte and Christopher.
Unfortunately, she died of ovarian cancer in December 1991. A few months after Harris's passing, he confessed she made him the man, actor, and father he was. He added that she remained "embedded" in his fibers.
Losing a person you share everything with is cruel, according to Brosnan. It was the first time he experienced "bereavement," and it was "overwhelming." Luckily, the actor found love again while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 1994.
Smith, who grew up in Vallejo, California, was working as a TV correspondent at the time, and she was sent to Cabo San Lucas to interview "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star, Ted Danson.

However, Danson was called away. Shortly after, Smith and Brosnan crossed paths at a beach party and hit it off immediately. About their first meeting, Smith said:
"He was captivating. Tall, dark, and handsome–everything that everybody would immediately be attracted to. He had this mischievous sparkle in his eyes. I thought, 'Wow! Wow!'"
A few days later, they went on their first date, and it was straight out of a romantic comedy. They sat down under the stars holding hands, listening to Kenny Loggins, and watching fireworks going off.
Evans revealed that Facebook banned her husband's account for seven days.
They have been inseparable since then. Smith welcomed their first child, Dylan, in 1997, and she gave birth to Paris in 2001. A few months after Paris joined their family, they tied the knot in Ireland.
KEEPING THEIR WEDDING UNDER WRAPS
Brosnan and Smith's wedding, held at 800-year-old Ballintubber Abbey, was special for many reasons, including that they had to call it off three times before finally saying, "I do."
They canceled the ceremony the first time after Smith and Dylan were trapped in their Californian house for a week due to severe floods. Then, Sean suffered spinal injuries in a car crash.
After all that, Brosnan and Smith were ready to marry, but they called off the event again when Smith learned she was pregnant with Paris.
When they finally tied the knot, they ensured everything was perfect and private. The couple had the abbey soundproofed, invited only 100 guests to their lavish reception in Ashford Castle, and made the staff sign confidentiality agreements.
GETTING FAT-SHAMED BY REALITY TV STARS
Brosnan and Smith's decades-long relationship has made headlines, mainly because she frequently goes with him to red-carpet events, and he gushes about her every time he can.
Unfortunately, the couple attracted unwanted attention in June 2021 after a reality TV couple fat-shamed them on social media. "Teen Mom" star Jenelle Evans and her controversial husband, David Eason, were to blame.
Evans posted before-and-after images of Brosnan and Smith on the beach, taken more than 20 years apart. They have understandably gained weight over the years, and the differences between both photos were evident.
Evans tagged Eason and wrote, "This is us." Eason responded that they didn't look "that fat," but she replied, "Close to it." It is essential to point out that Evans spread body positivity online.
[Brosnan] fell in love with her for her personality, not only for her beauty.
She once admitted to feeling insecure because she was too skinny. Things improved after she gained weight in 2015. Now, she is "happy" with her body, but her cyberbullying didn't go unnoticed.
Shortly after posting the fat-shaming photos and comments, Evans revealed that Facebook banned her husband's account for seven days.
She claimed it was because he called themselves fat, but netizens accused her of "twisting the truth" because they knew about their fat-shaming comments.
LOVING EVERY CURVE OF SMITH'S BODY
Smith once admitted she never shies away from her curves when choosing her wardrobe. She hardly ever uses baggy clothes to hide her body, and Brosnan loves his wife's curves. He defended his wife by saying:
"Friends offered her surgery to reduce her weight. But I strongly love every curve of her body. She is the most beautiful woman in my eyes. And also because she had our five children."

The "Mamma Mia!" star also said he fell in love with her for her personality, not only for her beauty. Now that Smith is the mother of his children, he loves her "even more" and wants to be worthy of her love.
Brosnan admitted that he couldn't have found a better partner than Smith even if he had searched a million times. Smith is just as proud of her husband, and she described him as an intelligent and captivating man who ages beautifully like "fine wine."
CELEBRATING HER BIRTHDAY WITH A LOVING POST
Smith turned 58 in September 2021, and Brosnan made sure she felt loved and appreciated by posting a sweet photo on social media. Smith appeared in a purple swimsuit while holding a coconut on top of a cup in the image. She was flashing her gorgeous smile and wearing oversized sunglasses.
Brosnan previously revealed that one of the secrets to their successful marriage was having plenty of quality time together. They would take road trips to Santa Barbara to "look at houses and drink great wine."
Instead of listening to music, they would listen to their voices. Brosnan also said he couldn't live without his wife's strength, vitality, and passion. When she looks at him, he goes "weak." What a loving couple!
