The world's once-favorite on-screen pirate finds himself in front of the camera again. But this time, it's a little different, bearing light not only on his personal life but also on his family's. One member who still appears to be in hiding is his shy son, Jack.
The once-upon-a-time enigma, Johnny Depp, has become a consistent source of news after suing his ex-wife and actress Amber Heard for defamation. The amount stands at $50million.
This defamation of character is allegedly present in an Op-ed article in the Washington Post. In this Op-ed, Heard claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse in the report, allegedly implying that Depp was the abuser.

The "Aquaman" actress has counter-sued for $100million. This trial has since become somewhat of a carnival with explosive testimonies, claims of personality disorders, private recordings, and unsettling texts. Or, as Depp himself referred to the sin-city industry in general, a "this vile [expletive] circus,"
The ongoing legal battle between Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard is an online sensation. People have been filling their popcorn bowls to watch the latest scoop as he and his former spouse bare their private lives for all the world to see.
Yet, sometimes we forget, because of their celebrity status, real people are behind this, facing significant repercussions depending on the outcome.

These consequences, strangely enough, are partially why the "Edward Scissorhands" actor claims he filed the defamation lawsuit in the first place. As he expressed:
"Since I knew there was no truth to it whatsoever, I felt it my responsibility to stand up not only for myself in that instance but stand up for my children, who at the time were 14 and 16."
His kids are 22-year-old Lily-Rose Depp and 20-year-old John "Jack" Christopher Depp, mainly referred to as "Jack." The fact that he once used a wooden plank to chase photographers away for taking pictures of his kids, this reasoning may as well be true. But, the jury is certainly still out.
WHO IS JOHNNY DEPP'S SON?
Both his daughter, Lily-Rose, and son Jack, are children to Depp and his other ex-wife and French singer Vanessa Paradis. His daughter is sometimes seen in the limelight.
But, Jack appears to have inherited the "Pirates of the Caribbean" stars' aversion to the public eye. This is not the only similarity between father and son, as the two almost look identical.
The young man also appears to have a very close bond with Lily-Rose, with the sister posting multiple affectionate pictures of her little brother on her Instagram. Many fans have been taken aback by how similar he looks to his dad in throwback pictures.
The father has revealed that his son is a great artist and musician – two areas that the trouper himself is involved in. He also noted that his son was not planning on pursuing acting in any professional capacity. As he said himself:
"My boy Jack has always been a very talented draftsman. He draws really super- well. He also plays music very well. He's got a good feel for that. Aside from school plays and things, he hasn't shown any desire to become an actor. Whew!
According to his dad, his also very mature for his age. Depp recollected that his son and daughter handled their mom and his previous Parisian beaux's split with grace and understanding.
WHO IS JOHNNY DEPP'S DAUGHTER?
More adept to the limelight, Lily-Rose has appeared in several movies, including "Tusk" alongside her father; she has received critical acclaim for a lot of her work, winning many awards along the way. Speaking about his gifted Rose, Depp expressed:
"My daughter, on the other hand, is one of the smartest human beings I have ever known. She has far surpassed myself and my friends. She is just a genius."
Beyond this, she is a gorgeous model in her own right. She was asked to be the face of Chanel in 2015, pulling her even more into the public eye. But, while she does step out slightly more than the rest of the family, Lily-Rose claims that her parents always taught her the value of privacy.
It is interesting to note as Depp testified that his daughter did not attend his and Heards' private island wedding. As he stated:
"My daughter Lily-Rose did not come to the wedding. She and Ms. Heard were not on particularly great terms for several reasons."
She has since defended her father following the initial allegations via an Instagram post in 2016. The post has since been taken down.
IS JOHNNY DEPP'S CAREER OVER?
While his family life looks intact, questions are floating around as to whether this contentious actor's career is surviving the allegations, the Op-ed purportedly targeting him, and the current trial. Specific to the Op-ed, Depp's talent manager Jack Whigham, said:
"With respect to JohnnyH, it was catastrophic cause it was coming from a first-person account. It was not from a journalist... it was from someone saying, 'This happened to me.'"
He stated that the article lost the actor many jobs. As for his career post-trial, only time will tell what the jury, the public, and the casting directors decide.
