Why Did Shania Twain and Her Ex Husband Split Up?

Naomi Judd's demise has seen many people send in words of encouragement and empathy to the country music icon's family.

Among the well-wishers was Shania Twain, who paid tribute to the late Naomi by sharing a heartfelt message on her Instagram page.

In it, she empathized with Ashley and Wynonna and affirmed that losing a parent was a difficult thing.

As she ended the tribute, Twain called Naomi and her daughters an inspiration, saying that both Ashley and Wynonna have their mom's strength and declaring that The Judds deserved to be inducted into Country Music's Hall of Fame.

WHO IS SHANIA TWAIN'S EX-HUSBAND?

The first man Shania Twain married was producer Robert John Lange, and the singer thought the union would last forever.

Perhaps it would have if she had not met her PA, Marie-Anne Thiébaud. The two developed a friendship after the couple moved to the Swiss town of Corseaux. Twain and her hubby hired Marie-Anne to manage their chateau.

Twain trusted Marie-Anne so much that she turned to the Swiss native when there were issues in her marriage. In fact, they were pregnant at the same time. When she suspected that her husband was cheating, Marie-Anne told her it was unlikely.

Then, in 2008, Lange served her divorce papers, marking the end of their 14-year marriage. It didn't take long for Twain, and the rest of the world, to find out that Lange was having an affair with Marie-Anne.

He vehemently denied it, but Marie-Anne's husband, Nestle executive Frédéric Thiébaud, allegedly had evidence — including phone bills and hotel receipts — when he broke the news to Twain.

HOW DID SHANIA MEET HER CURRENT HUSBAND?

After the divorce from Lange was finalized in 2010, Twain slid into depression, and it was during this time that she turned to Thiébaud. She once said:

"There were days I didn't really care if tomorrow came."

Thiébaud had also been jilted by his wife, and together, he and Twain were able to find a way out of their suffering, then they fell in love.

The pair have a great relationship and have been married since 2011. Twain enjoys spending time with her husband, who lives a more private life. As a result, he rarely appears on her social media pages.

One of the few times she shared a shot of him on her Instagram page was in March 2022. They had a fun outing as they watched a UFC match.

Twain's most recent post of her husband was shared on May 15, 2022, and in the caption, she referred to Thiébaud as her "best friend" — a testament to the strength of their love.
