What to Expect in the New ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

"Thor: Love and Thunder" is the 29th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this time, the cast is taking an adventure to worlds fans are yet to see and even come face to face with Zeus. There will also be plenty of humor and a new spin for fans.

With another Marvel Cinematic Universe film on the way, fans are excited to see what is in store, as the movie had one of the shortest promotional windows for any MCU movie.

The first teaser, which they released in April 2022, picked up after the events of "Avengers: Endgame." It showed that Thor had retired from avenging, started hanging out with the "Guardians of the Galaxy," and decided to do some soul searching.

His plans did not last as he was roped into another mission. While the initial teaser kept fans at the edge of their seats with a promise of a movie that would rock their world, MCU decided to release the full trailer.

On May 24, 2022, Marvel Cinemas unveiled the trailer, which showed a significant shift in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the arrival of a new superhero and a new villain.

WHAT THE NEW "THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER" IS ALL ABOUT

In the fourth installment of "Thor," the superheroes have to work together to fight a new villain who has made a promise to destroy all gods.

Thor's search for self-discovery and retirement gets interrupted by a galactic killer called Gorr the God Butcher. To stop him, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg, and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who now wields Mjolnir, his magical hammer.

Together, they set out on a dangerous cosmic journey to unravel the secret surrounding the God Butcher's revenge and ultimately stop him before it's too late.

In the previous installment of Thor, the God of Thunder was imprisoned on the other side of the universe. In his quest for survival, he had to race against time to prevent the destruction of his homeworld and the Asgardian civilization.

WHO WILL BE IN THE NEW "THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER"

Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as Thor, Tessa Thompson is back as Valkyrie, and she revealed that she played Valkyrie as bisexual just like they were in the comics.

Christian Bale is the villain named Gorr the God Butcher, while Natalie Portman is back as Jane Foster, and this time, she is also a hammer-wielding Mighty Thor.

Russell Crowe takes on the role of Zeus, and some characters from "Guardians of the Galaxy" are back. Jaimie Alexander will reportedly take on her role as Sif, the Asgardian warrior.

There are also reports that Matt Damon, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Hemsworth, and Sam Neill may have roles in the new "Thor: Love and Thunder."

WHEN WILL "THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER" BE RELEASED?

The movie, directed by Taika Waititi, began filming in early 2021 and wrapped in June 2021. They initially set it for release on November 5, 2021, but it experienced delays.

It will now hit the cinemas on July 8, 2022, just after fans had been treated to "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" and are expecting "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" before the end of 2022.
