Jennifer Lopez Calls Ben Affleck the Most ‘Selfless’ Dad Ever Yet Insider Says They Do Not Want Kids Together

Hollywood couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, dubbed "Bennifer," have taken their relationship to the next level by moving in together and getting engaged. As parents from previous marriages, the question of whether or not they will expand their blended family has been put to rest.

Actor Ben Affleck has three children from his decade-long marriage with his former wife, actress Jennifer Garner. The pair got married in 2005 and divorced in 2018.

The duo first met on the set of "Pearl Harbor" in 2000 and began dating in 2004. They were considered Hollywood's "it" couple back then; hence it became a shock to fans when they announced that they were divorcing.

In their joint statement to People, the exes said: "After much thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," adding they would be moving forward in "love and friendship" for one another while committing to co-parent their children.

Before parting ways, Garner and Affleck welcomed daughters Violet and Seraphina and son Samuel. Their kids rarely appear in the spotlight despite them being famous.

However, in November 2021, Garner and her eldest child, Violet, were spotted in Brentwood, California, where the teenager was taking driving lessons. Paparazzi photos showed Violet conversing with the driving instructor while her mom was present for the pre-driving lesson meetings.

While Garner and Affleck are successfully co-parenting their brood, the father of three once admitted how guilty he still feels about their divorce. In a candid interview with the New York Times in July 2021, the "Argo" star revealed that his divorce from the mother of his children was his biggest regret:

"The biggest regret of my life is this divorce. Shame is really toxic. There is no positive by-product of shame. It's just stewing in a toxic, hideous feeling of low self-worth and self-loathing."

Affleck and Garner's marriage fell apart when his alcoholism affected their union between 2015 and 2016. He and the "Alias" star announced their separation in 2015, and their divorce was finalized four years later.

Regardless of ending their marriage on bad terms, the former couple still appears side by side with their kids in public from time to time. In January 2022, Affleck was seen out and about with his oldest daughter Violet and son Samuel, who happen to be big Taylor Swift fans, in Los Angeles.

Moreover, the doting dad is currently dating his former fiancée, Jennifer Lopez, who has two kids with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Lopez is a mom of twins, a son named Max, and a daughter named Emme, whom she welcomed in February 2008.

She and Affleck were previously engaged in 2002 but broke off their engagement in January 2004. Following the breakup, the actress spoke candidly about it in an interview with Vanity Fair, saying she lost her sense of self after the split and questioned whether she was cut out for the Hollywood life.

The pair rekindled their relationship in 2021, 19 years after they initially began dating. They have been spotted publicly with their children. In June 2022, the couple went to Westfield Century City mall in LA.

The blended family was seen shopping for home items and made pop-ins at stores such as Dr. Martens, Terrain, and Vans. They also made a stop for frozen yogurt at Yogurtland.

AFFLECK SAYS HIS KIDS THINK HE IS 'UNCOOL'

In an interview with Extra TV in December 2021, Affleck revealed that he constantly has to keep up with his children, who are Generation Z.

Seeing that they are growing up in modern times, what he finds cool would be the opposite for them, making him the "uncool" dad. The Oscar-winning screenwriter joked that what is remarkable about being a parent is embarrassing his kids.

The director has gained experience as a father over the years, and according to his beau, Lopez, he is indeed a loving parent.

For Father's Day, the triple-threat paid tribute to her fiancé via an Instagram post, saying she is blessed to have someone as dedicated as Affleck to building a family.

Lopez described the "Justice League" star as the most "consistent, selfless daddy ever" in her Father's Day tribute. "Happy Father's Day to the most caring, loving, affectionate, consistent, and selfless daddy ever," she wrote.

The mother of two revealed that not only is Affleck a great father to his children, but he also shows the same kind of adoration for her kids.

Lopez shared the two-time Academy Award winner shows up and puts her brood first without obligation, adding he always engages with them and is affectionate towards them, something she deems beautiful.

WHAT ABOUT HAVING A CHILD TOGETHER?

The Generation Award winner tries to be a good stepmother to the producer's kids. She gets along with them well and has a special bond with his only son, Samuel. A source told HollywoodLife in April 2022:

"Jennifer Lopez is loved by all of Ben's kids, but she definitely has a special bond with Samuel because Samuel is the youngest out of all the five kids and is the baby of the bunch, so to speak."

She reportedly feels that Samuel is "very much like his father." In addition, the dancer treats all of Affleck's children like her own and, at the same time, still respects that Garner is their mother.

The insider added that the "I'm Real" singer's connection with the California native's children makes him more confident that fate brought them back together.

According to the source, the lovebirds are trying to make the blended family work which amazes Garner. She does not mind having her kids go over to their father's house with Lopez around because it affords her some time to herself as well, "which is rare for her."'

The insider claimed that despite things appearing to be smooth sailing, Lopez and Affleck do not want to have a child together: "They do not want any new children. They are both past that part in their lives," said the source.
