Country singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert first met during an onstage duet at CMT's 100 Greatest Duets Concert in 2005. Shelton was still married to his first wife, Kaynette Gern.

Recalling the encounter upon meeting the "The Voice!" coach, Lambert revealed to Hoda Kotb in 2011 that her first meeting with him was indescribable.

"I didn't know if it was just initial butterflies. I don't know what it was. It was just this draw to each other," she said. The songstress later told Marie Claire in December 2014 that Shelton was her "perfect match."

Lambert explained that they had opposite personalities, "I'm not sunshine and roses. Blake's the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness." The pair wed in 2011, following six years of dating.

While the tabloids scrutinized their relationship, the Grammy Award winner said it was all good and well in their marriage, saying it was "the best."

However, the gossip pages speculated that a divorce was imminent between the couple. But Shelton slammed the rumors on Twitter, writing:

"Maybe because the divorce rate is so high, the tabloids have just decided to play the odds with me and Miranda. But divorce, that's outlandish."

On what attracted him to the "Hell on Heels" singer, Shelton said Miranda was complicated, and that was the best way he knew how to describe her. "That's what I admire about her. Her complications," he stated.

Though the Oklahoma native had previously dismissed implications of trouble brewing between him and Lambert, it turned out to be true. In July 2015, the pair announced they were divorcing after four years of marriage.

They released a statement to the Associated Press that read they were not on the same page in terms of their life together, adding that it was with "heavy hearts" that they decided to part ways.

Afterward, both parties remained mum on social media about their divorce after years of speculation that they were having problems. However, Shelton previously addressed them in a cover story for People in 2013.

He revealed that he told his then-wife that he had nothing to hide from her. The TV personality disclosed he even allowed her to go through his phone, which had always been their policy.

Shelton emphasized that he and Lambert had the trust, which was a good thing because he avoided at all costs for her to have doubts about their relationship.

On their third wedding anniversary, Lambert spoke about their union, saying that being married was difficult but that it had good times too:

"Marriage is hard, it's awesome, and you should make a huge deal of it."

The Texas native divulged that she and her husband always tried to find time to be together and that she would not want to spend her anniversary on the other side of the country away from Shelton. "Time is sacred," Lambert noted. Overall, the duo had been together for ten years, with six years of dating and four years of marriage.

Following the divorce, Lambert tried to pick up the pieces and even started dating again. However, she became a target for social media trolls who criticized her romances.

In December 2015, Us Weekly reported that Lambert was dating musician Anderson East. When the two attended the 2016 CMA Awards, the "Blue Bird" singer posted a photo of the couple ahead of the event.

However, trollers zeroed in on Lambert and East, criticizing their body language, eyes, and the clothes they wore to the occasion. Lambert blasted the trollers expressing her disappointment. She stated that she was excited about the evening and posted a photo:

"When I looked, I realized many comments were judgmental and negative. Cowardly people hiding behind a keyboard or a cell phone writing their useless comments about our eyes and clothes and body language."

"Thank you all for reminding me why I read books, write songs and spend most of my time with animals and people I trust and love," Lambert continued.

LAMBERT'S 'LONG JOURNEY' TO FINDING HAPPINESS

While things did not work out with her and East, the "Nashville Star" alum eventually found her happy ever after. "Finding happiness and being at peace with yourself, it's a long journey, but I've gotten to a great place," Lambert told People in June 2022.

She revealed that it was all about finding a balance between work and her personal life. Lambert said she had been touring for 20 years but had seen nothing, adding she wanted to do something different to experience life during her downtime.

The Pistol Annies band member shared she would be road-tripping beginning July 1, 2022, and tagging along with her would be her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.

The couple had a whirlwind romance as they got married after only three months of dating in January 2019. Lambert revealed that she got to a better place after meeting her spouse, a retired NYPD police officer.

She expressed that she wanted to be "open about how happy" they are as a married couple. Lambert shared that McLoughlin "loves me for me," which is something she cherishes in her life at the moment.

While on tour, she told fans that even though she would sing a sad song, she was not sad anymore thanks to her husband because he brings her nothing but joy.

It appears the lovebirds want to increase their triumph by starting a family. In February 2022, a source revealed to Us Weekly that the couple was trying to have a baby, stating that Lambert and McLoughlin decided that they would start trying after their third wedding anniversary.

"Miranda is thrilled, and Brendan has always wanted to have kids with her," the insider disclosed. While this would be a first-time role in parenthood for Lambert, it would be McLoughlin's second child.

The New York native has a son named Landon, whom he shares with former girlfriend Kaihla Rettinger, who gave birth to their child only two days before he and Lambert met on "Good Morning America" in November 2018.
