Dad Secretly Takes Little Daughter from Her Mom, Gives Her to His Childless Sister Forever
A man took his daughter from Britain to Morocco and returned empty-handed, telling his wife he left her with his childless sister. Feeling heartbroken, the mother protested but was helpless. Unbeknownst to her, her daughter would set out on a mission to search for her thirty years later, unaware of her mother's whereabouts.
One of the things that bind two people in a relationship is trust. Without it, most relationships fall apart. Couples -- married or not -- trust each other with many things, including their deepest secrets, finances, and children. Most people can never even imagine their partners betraying them.
Today's emotional story revolves around a woman whose partner betrayed her by giving their daughter to his sister without her consent. After her partner returned from another country without their daughter, she knew she couldn't trust him again. However, she had no idea her life would take an unexpected turn fifty years later.
THE EMPTY-HANDED FATHER
About 50 years ago, Hazel Chick gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in Birmingham, England, and named her Sanae. Feeling ecstatic after holding her daughter in her arms for the first time, the mother looked forward to raising her baby girl with her partner.
When Sanae turned 18 months old, her father took her to Morocco, telling Chick that he was going to see his relatives. Since she trusted her ex-husband, she let him take her little one, oblivious to his betrayal.
Suddenly, her world came crashing down when her ex-husband returned without Sanae four weeks later. He told her that he left little Sanae with his childless sister in Morocco, assuring Chick she would take care of her. Feeling heartbroken, the mother cried every night because she felt helpless, knowing she couldn't bring Sanae back.
THE LITTLE GIRL
The 18-month-old baby had no idea what had happened to her. She didn't know the people she called her parents were, in fact, her paternal aunt and uncle. As she grew up, her strict aunt started controlling her life, making her childhood miserable.
When Sanae turned eleven, her aunt forced her to leave school and work at home. She made the little girl do all the chores until she turned nineteen. That was when her aunt married her off to a man 20 years older than Sanae. After tying the knot, Sanae was confined in the man's house, doing house chores and sewing clothes. She recalled:
"It was an arranged marriage. He's very, very in control. He liked to think I was his slave."
THE SHOCKING SECRET
Sanae unwillingly lived with her husband and gave birth to four children. She had no choice except to stay in the house. "If you do something wrong, he's going to beat you," she said.
When Sanae turned thirty, a shocking revelation changed her perspective on life. A distant relative from England revealed that her "strict" parents were her aunt and uncle and her birth parents lived in England. The devastated woman shared her feelings:
"I feel like my heart is broken. You feel all your life is a lie. I want to know my real mother. I hope she loved me. Like I love her."
THE SEARCH
After discovering the truth, Sanae immediately contacted the British Embassy and got hold of her birth certificate. Then, along with her children, she moved to the UK since she was a British national by birth. The life-changing secret helped her escape from Morocco.
Sanae heaved a sigh of relief after getting rid of her controlling husband, aunt, and uncle. While living in the UK for 20 years, she met a man and married him. Meanwhile, she kept looking for her mother, hoping she could hug her one day and tell her how much she had missed her.
While searching for her mother, Sanae contacted the team of the ITV show, "Long Lost Family," telling them about her situation. She asked them to trace her mother, Hazel Chick. Soon, the team found Chick using their strong network. She lived in Birmingham and was surprised to learn about Sanae.
THE HEARTWARMING REUNION
On June 27, 2022, the emotional episode of Sanae and Chick's reunion aired on TV, where they cried while tightly hugging each other. Chick confessed she never stopped thinking about her daughter since the day her ex-husband left her in Morocco. She added:
"I love her, I always have, I always will... I'm glad she's back in my life."
Sanae confessed it was "the best day" of her life when she met her mother for the first time. The emotional episode left the viewers in tears. They shared their feelings about it on Facebook.
"How wonderful to find each other after all those years! Very moving! I was crying with happiness for them both!" wrote one user, while another said, "What a tear-jerker, so glad they're back together."
