Similarities between Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman in 'Star Wars' and Real Life
For years, fans have claimed that Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman look alike, but the truth is they have fewer things in common than you think.
Hollywood stars Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman share many physical similarities, and even their moms had a hard time telling them apart when they worked on a "Star Wars" film.
Both actresses have admitted that people frequently mistake them for one another, but are they really identical? Scroll down and find it out.
"STAR WARS:" THE BEGINNING OF THE KEIRA KNIGHTLEY-NATALIE PORTMAN COMPARISONS
People began comparing Knightley and Portman's looks in 1999, when "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" came out. Portman portrayed Queen Padmé, and Knightley played Sabé, Padmé's handmaiden. At the time, Portman was 16, and Knightley was 12.
Still, casting directors must have noticed physical similarities between both actresses because Sabé and Padmé switch roles during crises, meaning that Sabé dressed up as the Queen and Padmé wore handmaiden clothes.

Although Sabé's role in the story was paramount, Knightley barely has a recollection of that time. In a 2020 interview, the British actress admitted she thought she played Padmé.
Knightley later said that she was so young when she worked on "Star Wars" that she couldn't remember much of it. Her character spent so much time in the background that it was hard for her not to fall asleep.
Three years after "Phantom Menace" came out, Knightley was cast in "Bend It Like Beckham" – her breakthrough role. She then achieved worldwide fame as Elizabeth Swann in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film franchise.
ARE KEIRA KNIGHTLEY AND NATALIE PORTMAN THAT SIMILAR?
Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman might have similar facial features, but they are not identical. Besides their four-year age gap, Knightley, a London native, is three inches taller than Portman, who was born in Jerusalem, Israel.
It is essential to point out that both actresses stand, smile, and move differently. Some have described Knightley's look as "slightly wilder" than Portman's, who seems more of a "homebody" than Knightley.
Portman also addressed her similarities to Knightley, Millie Bobby Brown, Giada De Laurentis, and Emily Ratajkowski.

There have been debates on online discussion forums about the actresses' similarities. There are some people who think they used to look more alike when they were younger.
Over the years, Knightley became the "stunning" ambassador of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle, while Portman developed a "girl-next-door beauty."
Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman have even had fans mistake them for one another. In an interview with James Corden on "The Late Late Show," Knightley admitted people chased her through an airport convinced she was Portman.
Knightley also confessed fans have confused her for "Mare of Easttown" actress Kate Winslet, "Black Widow" star Rachel Weiss, and pop icon Britney Spears.
In January 2020, Portman revealed she also gets mistaken for Millie Bobby Brown, Giada De Laurentis, and Emily Ratajkowski.
Portman took on the Dolly Parton Challenge, which consisted of sharing a photo collage of profile pictures one would choose for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Tinder. However, she gave it an unexpected and hilarious twist.
Instead of picking images of herself, she used one of Brown for LinkedIn, one of De Laurentiis for Facebook, one of Knightley for Instagram, and one of Ratajkowski for Tinder.

Portman and Knightley's personal lives have a few similarities: they are married with two children. Portman tied the knot with French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied and has two children: Aleph, born in 2011, and Amelia, born in 2017.
On the other hand, Knightley is married to British musician James Righton. She has two daughters, Edie, born in 2015, and Delilah, born in 2019.
Their careers are on different tangents, however. Portman gives more interviews, has an Instagram account, and returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in "Thor: Love and Thunder."
However, Knightley is off social media and has had fewer roles in high-profile projects. One of her latest films, "Silent Night," came out in 2021. Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman might not be identical, but they are both successful actresses and loving moms. Way to go!
