Kylie Jenner Slammed & Labeled 'Climate Criminal' for Taking 3-Minute Flights in Her Private Jet
Fans were quite upset with businesswoman Kylie Jenner after she took her private jet out for a three-minute flight that could've taken less than an hour to drive. They believed she had no regard for how her actions affected the Earth's climate because she was out of touch.
In 2022, Kylie Jenner found herself at the center of scandals for her celebrity behavior. In May 2022, she and her mother, Kris Jenner, sparked intense backlash from fans when they were filmed going to a supermarket.
While filming for their reality show, "The Kardashians," Kylie showed how she wasn't used to doing ordinary things. She told Kris she wanted to do everyday things with her, leading the momager to be surprised by the request.

The momager asked Kylie what she wanted to do, leading the young businesswoman to reveal that she wished to "feel really normal" while pregnant. Kris suggested visiting a grocery store as she hadn't patronized one in two years!
The younger Jenner was excited by the idea and noted how they hadn't been to a grocery store "in forever." The then-pregnant reality star and her mother went to a supermarket in Malibu, where Kylie wanted to be able to pick up her food.

The mother-daughter pair believed the outing would be "good for [the] soul." During a confessional, Kris confessed that she stopped visiting stores because other customers often recognized her, adding:
“I stopped going to the grocery store because the people that were in the grocery store were sneaking pictures, and suddenly paparazzi would show up. It’s hard.”
After they'd finished packing up their groceries and returned the shopping cart, Kylie admitted to her mother that she'd "loved every minute of it!" Viewers of the show criticized the pair noting how "out of touch" they were while exposing their privilege.
Fans found it uncomfortable seeing the duo finding novelty in ordinary everyday activities. The following month Kylie came under fire again after her chef, Chef K, revealed on Tiktok what she cooks for the reality star in a day.
Some fans found it unappealing that the businesswoman had someone who helped her with simple things like cooking. However, in July 2021, Kylie showed off her cooking skills when she and her daughter, Stormi, cooked a pizza.
KYLIE IS DESCRIBED AS A "CLIMATE CRIMINAL"
In July 2022, the Kylie Cosmetics founder shared a black-and-white image of herself and her boyfriend, Travis Scott, posing on an airfield among two planes. She revealed they owned the jets, writing:
"You wanna take mine or yours?"
According to Daily Mail, Kylie used her $70 million Bombardier Global 7500 jet thrice in the middle of July 2022 to travel across the country. The publication said she used it for short flights on the 13th and 15th.
Celebrity Jets, a Twitter account, revealed that Kris's daughter flew from Camarillo, California, to Van Nuys, California, for her July 13 flight. The flight only took three minutes to arrive at the airport!
The reality star also flew from Camarillo to Van Nuys on the same day for 17 minutes, for a trip that would've taken her 40 to 45 minutes to drive. Her flight on the 15th Landed in Camarillo, California, after 12 minutes in the air.
Daily Mail said Kylie's trips cost around $1600 of jet fuel, but if the star had hired it, she would've coughed out about $7200. If the businesswoman had chosen to drive for the 26-mile trip from her home in Hidden Hills to Camarillo, it would've taken her 39 minutes.
However, the former "Keeping up with the Kardashians" star drove 30 minutes in the opposite direction to Van Nuys Airport before getting on the plane. Her trip took longer despite her having a 12-minute flight.
Fans were not impressed with Kylie's carbon footprint from all the short trips' fuel emissions. One Twitter user noted that "80% of people" had never taken a plane, but the reality star took 10-minute flights regularly.
The person said the star had taken five flights, all under 30 minutes in one week, with one of them only taking three minutes. The upset fan shared how Kylie's carbon footprint for a ten-minute flight was more than what some people earned in a year.
Someone described the celebrity as a "full-time climate criminal" and noted how such jets shouldn't be allowed to take off. One other person was shocked that they had to "wash out cans" for recycling while Kylie took three-minute flights.
Another critic said that while Europe was "on fire," Kris' daughter took 15-minute trips in her jet. The person noted how they could've recycled all the things they had, bought only second-hand clothes, composted and grew their food for the rest of their lives but wouldn't offset the footprint from one of Kylie's flights.
With the new information, COVID-19's impact on beauty stocks, and consumer spending, Forbes believed Kylie [Jenner] wasn't a billionaire.
A Twitter user thought celebrities were "so out of touch with reality" that people like Kylie failed to realize she would get some backlash for her jet use. The fan urged the reality star to "read the room," adding:
"Our planet is dying, climate change is a real issue."
KYLIE IS NO LONGER A BILLIONAIRE
In 2019, Kylie was declared a billionaire by Forbes, only for the status to be retracted the following year. The reality star received the status after she sold 51% of her Kylie Cosmetics business to Coty for $1.2 billion.
However, when Coty released its filings, it was revealed that Kris' daughter's company was much smaller and less profitable than the media believed. The Kardashian-Jenner family was accused of forging tax returns.
The clan also pushed the idea of their wealth by inviting Forbes to their mansions. A Jefferies equity analyst, Stephanie Wissink, said, "It's fair to say that everything the Kardashian-Jenner family does is oversized."
With the new information, COVID-19's impact on beauty stocks, and consumer spending, Forbes believed Kylie wasn't a billionaire. She only received around $340 million for the Coty deal after taxes.
