In 2020, Dr. Julian De Silva shared an image of Robert Pattinson, revealing how science had determined that the actor was the most beautiful man in the world. De Silva said they'd used a measure that determined physical perfection, the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi.

It found the star had an overall rating of 92.15%. The "Batman" actor was compared against other male celebrities and came out at the top of the list that was compiled using the latest computerized mapping techniques.

Pattinson was revealed as the clear winner when his face's elements were measured for physical perfection. The star's eyes, nose, chin, eyebrows, facial shape, jaw, and lips were measured against other male celebrities.

According to the Greeks, the results determined that the actor was the closest idea of perfection. De Silva's London Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery uses the technology in his work.

The Harley Street facial cosmetic surgeon explained: "These brand new computer mapping techniques allow us to solve some of the mysteries of what it is that makes someone physically beautiful." He also noted the technology used when patients' surgery was planned.

According to Daily Mail, the Golden Ratio of Phi came from the European Renaissance, where architects and artists used it as an equation that aided while creating their work. The ratio could be applied to anything.

The famous Leonardo Da Vinci used it to create the Vitruvian Man. Scientists have since adapted the mathematical formula to explain what makes people beautiful by measuring the width and length of their faces and then dividing the results.

The idea was that the closer the ratio of the body or face to Phi or 1.618, the more beautiful a person was. Measurements were taken from the hairline to between the eyes, until the bottom of the nose, and then to below the chin.

If the numbers were equal, the person would be considered more beautiful. The symmetry and proportion of one's face were taken into account, and for one to be seen as beautiful, their ear's length must be equal to that of the nose.

The eyes' width would also need to equal the distance between them. For Pattinson to be crowned in the category, he came against other male celebrities who gave him a run for his money!

Taking to Facebook, LADbible shared an article about Pattinson's high rating, and Daily Mail wrote about Hadid's. However, readers and social media users felt the scientific scores were incorrect.

A person, who appeared to be joking, put the UK's Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the running.
