Ruth Langsford, 66, Stuns Fans With Face After 'Tattoo Time' — 7+ Photos Reveal What She Covered
Something about Ruth Langsford's latest Instagram post stopped her followers mid-scroll this week, and the responses it sparked were anything but predictable.
The 66-year-old presenter gave her audience an unusually candid look at the permanent makeup process behind her polished appearance, sharing footage of herself undergoing cosmetic tattoo touch-ups on her eyebrows and eyeliner.
For many followers, the post answered questions they never knew they had. For others, it prompted a rather more startled reaction.
Captioning the post "TATTOO TIME!!", Ruth explained that both her eyebrow and eyeliner tattoos had been topped up, with her previous session taking place nearly two years prior.
She was clear from the outset that she wanted to take the mystery out of the procedure: "I've had my eyebrow tattoo and my eyeline redone, so let me show you the process."
The footage showed her specialist, Naomi from Studio 8 Horsell, carefully mapping the shape of Ruth's brows using white chalk before the work began. Ruth described Naomi as "very precise," adding that she has been a practitioner for many years and is "highly qualified."
On the question most people ask first, Ruth was reassuringly direct. "I don't think it hurts. It's a little bit scratchy, of course, but not really painful."
She did acknowledge that the eyeliner felt slightly more uncomfortable: "The eyeline I've found is a little bit more sensitive, but again, it's manageable. And for me, the end result is worth it."
Ruth was equally specific about the choices behind her finished look. For her brows, she always opts for a soft brown/taupe shade, explaining that while they looked a bit dark to start with, they eventually faded to a lovely, natural colour for her skin tone.
Her eyeliner is always black, which she feels gives her eyes more definition.
She recommended Naomi's studio warmly, describing it as small, intimate and very private, and signed off with a direct nudge to any follower still on the fence,"If you've been thinking about it go on….you're worth it!"
The post drew an immediate and divided response. Many followers were full of admiration, with comments including "Beautiful work - also as they fade they will look so natural 😍 It’s definitely trust the process xx👏" Another said:
"Wow lovely outcome."
One fan wrote, "Would love too have that done looking good Ruth ❤️[sic]"
Not everyone felt quite so certain. "Looks good but I'm such a scaredy cat, I could never do that," admitted one follower. Another offered a more blunt reaction, writing simply:
"Didn't recognise her."
There was also a lone voice of wider concern. "Oh dear, what is going on with the world," one commenter wrote, though the majority of responses leaned firmly in the opposite direction.
Rather than keeping the treatment quietly out of sight, Ruth chose to film every stage of it, from the white chalk mapping to the final result, turning what might once have been a private appointment into a very open conversation with her followers.
She closed her video on the same note of warmth it began with, thanking the woman behind the work directly: "Thank you, Naomi."
Judging by the thousands of reactions that followed, many viewers were just as fascinated by the honesty of the process as they were by the finished look itself.
