Fans React to Charlotte Pulling Various Faces & William Comforting Her at Commonwealth Games
Prince William attended the Commonwealth Games with his only daughter, Princess Charlotte, and the little girl watched the participants closely. The different facial expressions she made caused her to be the talk of the town - in a good way!
On July 31, 2022, Prince William appeared on his social media account with his daughter, Princess Charlotte, to wish England's Women's national soccer team good luck before the UEFA Women's Euro finals.
The protective parent and his child seemed to have a close bond. The Duke of Cambridge looked quite proud of little Charlotte as she helped him to wish the team the best, and the Lionesses did win!

William appears to be a great parent who regularly spends time with Charlotte and her brothers, Princes George and Louis. Judi James, a body language expert, spoke to the Express about the father's relationship with his daughter from what she saw in the Twitter clip, saying:
"William tries very hard to suppress the pride from his facial expression as his daughter delivers her own message to the Lionesses."
James noted how the royal failed "badly" at hiding his pride but his "lip clamp and his rounded cheeks" gave it away. She felt those gestures revealed the "intensity of his emotions" as the little girl gave her message.
The expert also noted how Charlotte's confidence levels were quite impressive. James said the little girl could hold her own and did not hide behind her father; she didn't glance at him for her cue.
The body language expert thought the duo was utterly relaxed, and they showed "high levels of genuine engagement."
In June 2022, William was at St George's Park to meet England's women's team. He was gifted with three soccer t-shirts with his children's names. As he received Charlotte's present, he giggled and shared that his daughter wanted the team to know that she was "good at goal," adding:
"She's a budding star for the future!"

At the beginning of August 2022, seven-year-old Charlotte joined her father and mother, Duchess Kate, at the Commonwealth Games. She cheered on the gymnasts and also watched hockey and swimming.
The trio sat in the Sandwell Aquatics Center to watch the swimming heats, with Charlotte dressed in a black-and-white striped Rachel Riley dress that costs around $48. She and her parents appeared to be in high spirits.

The Cambridges' daughter seemed thrilled by the action at the games as she gestured to her parents. However, Charlotte didn't seem too impressed with Commonwealth Games' mascot, Perry the bull's dance performance for her.
The little girl looked shocked and scrunched up her face as she watched the enthusiastic mascot. However, she later got a teddy bear of the mascot on her way home after watching the hockey game.

William's daughter's facial expressions during the Birmingham event delighted fans. She was seen grinning, grimacing, pouting, and giving her father a thumbs up when things were going well!
At one point, Charlotte even rolled her eyes when William commented about something! She clapped along with other attendees, gasped during tense moments, and stuck her tongue out during others while Kate tucked some of her hair behind her ear.

Another adorable father-daughter moment occurred while the pair were watching the hockey match. After spending the day shaking hands with dignitaries, cheering for athletes, and smiling for photos, Charlotte seemed to be getting restless.
In a gesture that was seemingly intended to calm his daughter, William cuddled the little girl in the stands, patted her head comfortingly, and tucked her hair behind her ears. Royal fans loved the bond the pair shared and praised them for it, while others commented on the different faces Charlotte made.
One Twitter user was so thrilled with the little girl's expression that they shared a collage of her faces and asked, "Which Princess Charlotte are you today?" Another person shared three images of the little royal celebrating with her arms in the air and wrote:
"Look how excited Princess Charlotte is watching the gymnastics! Love how her parents are smiling at her."
A third fan also shared snippets of William's child showing off her array of expressions and said Charlotte was giving Louis "a run for his money." Alongside an image of William supporting his daughter as she gave him a thumbs up, one person noted how hands-on the older royal was.
The fan believed the parent knew the right faces to make to give Charlotte the freedom to express how she felt. They felt the Cambridges were modern royals who could balance the "pomp" without forgetting the warmth with their hands-on parenting.
Someone else also thought Charlotte giving her father a thumbs up was "so adorable." Sharing the images where William comforted his daughter when she got irritable, a royal fan, who described herself as a proud daddy's girl, said the photos warmed her heart and took her back to the days of:
"Hot chocolate, cookies and cuddling with Daddy for story time."
Another Twitter user celebrated William's bond with his daughter and said they loved how the Cambridges always found ways to comfort their children in public. However, Charlotte was not only acknowledged for her fun side but also for the public tantrum she once threw when she was younger.
CHARLOTTE'S AND LOUIS' TANTRUMS
In July 2017, Charlotte made news when she threw a little tantrum on the final day of her family's visit to Germany and Poland. While touring some new planes, William and Kate looked through booklets that were presented to them.
However, Charlotte, then two, tried to reach for the papers and became frustrated when they were taken away. She was recorded as she quickly stomped her feet and then threw herself on the floor when she didn't get her way.

As William held George's hand, Kate picked Charlotte up, and after a quick word that included the awareness that the public was watching, the little royal seemed to calm down, and things moved along as if nothing had happened.
The drama she [Duchess Kate] went through with her children was relatable to other mothers.
The relatable parenting moment let royal fans see that the Cambridges and their children had "ordinary people" experiences too. In November 2020, Kate participated in an Early Years Q&A where one person asked her how she managed her children's tantrums at home.
The Duchess of Cambridge admitted it was a "hard one" before joking that she'd also like to hear what the experts say.
Charlotte isn't the only Cambridge child to throw a public tantrum. During the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, little Louis had a moment where he threw a tantrum while on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. The lastborn was screaming while covering his ears, but his mother quickly handled him.
During the Jubilee pageant, Louis was in his element again, pulling interesting facial expressions and covering his mother's mouth at one point. According to Jeremy Freeman, a lip reader, Kate told the boy, "You have to," to which her son replied, "I don't want to."
William's wife told the boy to remove his hands and look at the parade, and when he blew a raspberry at her and stuck his tongue out, Kate told him to stop. The drama she went through with her children was so relatable to other mothers.
