Hundreds of thousands of citizens lined the streets of London to catch a glimpse of Her Majesty's coffin that was transported to Windsor, the sovereign's final resting place.

The funeral began with British natives paying their final respects by queuing to see the monarch lying-in-state at Westminster Hall. After that, the Queen's coffin – carried on the State Gun Carriage of the Royal Navy - was drawn by 142 sailors and taken in a procession to Westminster Abbey.

Following the service, the Queen's coffin was taken to Wellington Arch, then to its final journey to Windsor Castle and a committal service. A Piper played a lament when the monarch's coffin got lowered into the royal vault.

In addition, the three royal women were not the only ones who paid tribute to the Queen with jewelry pieces. Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, and Princess Charlotte also paid homage to the monarch with jewelry gifted by her.

Per Entertainment Tonight, the Japanese government presented the necklace to the Queen in 1975. However, the jewelry was only worn in 1982.

The monarch borrowed her daughter-in-law, Princess Diana at the time – who was reportedly the inspiration behind the design.

Princess Charlotte Will Inherit Her Grandmother's Jewelry over Lilibet

Moreover, the late Princess of Wales has two granddaughters, Princess Charlotte and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. Royal experts told Express in April 2022 that only one of the two granddaughters is likely to inherit Princess Diana's iconic jewelry collection.

A source revealed to the Mirror that the young princess would inherit a "priceless" heirloom previously owned by her late grandmother instead of Lilibet.

In addition, Princess Charlotte will also have "the pick of the palace jewels" once she is old enough because her father, Prince William, is next in line to the throne and is his only daughter.

The royal commentator claimed that the princess would inherit two items best suited for her – the Spencer Tiara, which her grandmother wore on her wedding day on July 29, 1981.

Palace insiders revealed discussions are underway regarding the security of the heirloom, which is currently in possession of Princess Diana's youngest brother, Charles, Earl Spencer, for Princess Charlotte.

A source claimed: "William is quite aware the Earl has daughters of his own, but the two have agreed that Diana's iconic piece belongs to her first granddaughter."
