Daniielle Alexis Is a Transgender Model Who Was Falsely Linked to Khloe Kardashian’s Ex Lamar Odom
When Daniielle Alexis' photo sitting close to a former Lakers star circulated on the internet, many immediately thought she was Lamar Odom's girlfriend. However, the transgender star only happened to come across the athlete.
Prying eyes are everywhere, ready to get a scoop on the latest Hollywood gossip, which is why it was no surprise that Khloe Kardashian's ex, Lamar Odom, was linked to transgender model Daniielle Alexis after a photo of them surfaced on the internet.
The photo was posted on Alexis' Instagram, showing the duo sitting close to each other. She also had a sweet caption alongside the photograph, which quickly had people mistaken.
Rumors about their alleged romance quickly spread. However, there was no truth to the speculation as the former Lakers star himself told TMZ that he never dated Alexis.
An insider claimed that Alexis met Odom during the BET Awards in Los Angeles and asked him for a photo as she drove by. They also had lunch together when he returned to the city.
Who Is Daniielle Alexis?
Alexis is a Bunbury, Australian-born transgender who grew up in Perth and moved to Hollywood to pursue her dream as a model and actress. She said:
"My parents got divorced when I was six years old, so I moved to Perth quite young with my mom and older sister, Ashton."
Alexis made history as the first transgender Australian actress to relocate to Los Angeles and work in Hollywood under contract. Before her big move, she was recognized for appearing in known Australian shows, including "The Heights" and "Wentworth."
She also has acting credits in the productions such as "Run," "Only the Good Die Young," "What We See," and "Breakout."
When Did Daniielle Alexis Transition?
Despite her success in the entertainment industry, life wasn't always fortunate for Alexis. At the young age of five, she already struggled with gender identity. Alexis said:
"It was very apparent to my parents that I was showing signs of being super feminine and verbalizing things about wanting to be a woman."
Although Alexis' family supported her identity, the same could not be said about those around her. Growing up, she faced bullying, harassment, and physical and mental torment at school. It wasn't until after high school that she freely lived the life she wanted by transitioning.
With the support of those around her, Alexis began her transition at 19. It was no easy feat having to drown the noise of those who had nothing but ill words to say about Alexis. However, her family and friends were the strength she needed to carry on.
Even after her transition, Alexis faced judgment from those around her, including men she dated. One of her dates did not believe she was transgender and told her to reject him like a normal person. Meanwhile, others did not know what transgender meant.
Who Has Lamar Odom Dated in the Past?
Although Alexis wasn't one of the women Odom has been with, the basketball star has been with a few celebrities, including the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star, whom he married in 2009. Unfortunately, their marriage was plagued with troubles.
Odom was struggling with substance abuse while being unfaithful to the reality star. Four years later, Kardashian filed for divorce from her then-husband.
Years later, Lamar Odom admitted that he wished things did not turn out the way they did and that he regrets his actions to this day.
After his relationship with Kardashian, Odom dated Sabrina Parr, a fitness enthusiast, and social media influencer. The duo became engaged for some time but eventually called it quits in 2020.
Odom also briefly dated Taraji P. Henson in 2009 but said she was a bit older than he was. Nevertheless, he learned a lot from their relationship.
