Their first adopted child was a boy Oscar Maximilian Jackman, followed by their daughter Ava Eliot Jackman. Hugh has accepted that for him and his wife, things happened how they were meant to, and having biological children was not part of life's plans.
When they decided to adopt, the couple wanted children of mixed races because there was more of a need, as people usually turn away these children the most.

Who Is Ava Eliot Jackman?
Ava was born on July 10, 2005, and her parents adopted her right after birth. At that time, they already had an adopted son, Oscar Maximilian, who was born on May 15, 2000, and they adopted him about the same time he was born.
Ava's zodiac sign is Cancer is also bi-racial and she is half Mexican and half German, while her brother, whose zodiac sign is Taurus has a bit of everything in his gene pool.

Also, the actor's relationship changed with his children now they are all grown up. He could no longer tell them not to do things without giving them reasons why they shouldn't do those things.
While filming "The Son," the actor asked his dancer daughter her opinion on a dance move he wanted to try out. After he danced, Ava told him that if the idea for the scene was a nerdy dad dancing, then his move was perfect.
Despite his nerdy dad dancing, Ava banned him from coming to watch her dance class when she was 14 because, on one of his visits, he became the center of attraction.

However, Ava spends time with her father and mother and is on good terms with them. As a baby, she went with her dad to the wedding of his trainer in Sydney.
During the lockdown in September 2020, paparazzi spotted her and her dad walking their dogs, Dali and Allegra, in New York while wearing protective masks.
After the Australian actor lost his father in September 2021, Ava and her mother spent time together and even went out for lunch near their family home in New York.

Hugh Jackman and his wife wanted to adopt children after having their natural children but soon discovered they could not have children and the actor revealed that it was painful.
