Angela and Courtney B. tied the knot in 1997 before welcoming their babies, and on top of their outstanding careers, the couple seems to lead a fulfilling family life. While Angela connects with both kids and has raised them with tough love, her relationship with Bronwyn has unique traits.

Bronwyn looked up to her mother from her formative years, watching and mimicking how she acted and spoke. Angela lovingly described her daughter as her little "copycat," recalling when Bronwyn would imitate her when she disciplined Slater. Little Bronwyn would chastise Slater on her own too!

While Bronwyn enjoys hanging out and going out with her friends, as her Instagram suggests, she also bonds with her mom through quality time and girl talk about dating. Angela doesn't reveal much of her family life on social media. Still, she does share snaps of herself, Bronwyn, and Slater every once in a while.

Life of Bronwyn

Actress Angela Bassett's daughter, Bronwyn Vance, is your ordinary youngster with an active social media presence. Her Instagram is full of gorgeous pictures of herself and snaps of her shared moments with her friends and loved ones, and it boasted well over a thousand followers at the time of publication.

Bronwyn has also curated little digital albums on her highlight stories. More of Bronwyn's Instagram digital albums include photos of her trips and food and one specifically for just photos of herself. She is also active on Tiktok, where she posts videos starring herself and her twin brother doing a dance routine or working out. At the time of publication, she had reached just over 1200 followers.

While Bronwyn clearly has an active social life, she also takes the time to advocate for worthy causes. At the beginning of this year, she signed up to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a campaign that spanned over seven weeks from January.

Bronwyn penned a short letter on the organization's page describing what the campaign was for and how it would benefit those suffering from different cancer types via the LLS. She explained that she initiated "Bronwyn's Student of The Year Campaign," where individuals or groups of students participated in raising donations.

Whoever, or whichever group, generated the most funds — with every dollar counting as one vote — would be honored with the "Student(s) of the Year" title. The money would support communities, and fund treatments, therapies, LLS research, community services, and education.

Bronwyn's letter garnered a comment section full of people singing her praises, encouraging her to continue her commendable contribution to saving the lives of cancer patients. She concluded the letter by expressing gratitude for their support and encouraging them to visit the LLS website for more information.

Inside Bronwyn's Private Life

When she turned 15, Bronwyn Vance asked if she could start dating. With her mother's blessing — who thought it was sweet — Bronwyn has indeed begun her own romantic life. However, that blessing didn't come without her mother's inquisitiveness, who once asked her teenager if she'd kissed a boy she liked.

Per US Weekly, Angela Bassett explained her curiosity about her daughter's dating life, saying:

"Sometimes, I'll have the nerve to ask, 'Have you kissed?' And she says, 'No.' And I'm like, 'Oh, OK, well, that wasn't my journey.'"

On the contrary, Bronwyn's dad, Courtney B. Vance, still found it awkward. While Bronwyn's parents gave their blessing for her to start dating, there were still some boundaries that needed to be set and respected.

During the height of the coronavirus pandemic, Angela revealed that Bronwyn and her boyfriend — whose name wasn't disclosed at the time — always had to stay six feet apart and wear masks around each other. The 16-year-old is currently in a relationship with a young basketball player and enthusiast named William.

Like his girlfriend, William has an active social media presence. Not much is known about William, but his Instagram indicates that he goes by he/him pronouns. Among his Instagram highlights is one dedicated to Bronwyn, affectionately titled "My World."

The Musical Interests of Bronwyn

Bronwyn Vance's mother, Angela Bassett, ensured that she engendered a deep appreciation for music in her and her brother Slater. According to People, the actress revealed that Bronwyn and Slater rap and play the piano and guitar.

When she took them to watch the Golden-Globe-winning animated film, "Soul," the actress was doubtful that her children would find it entertaining since it was jazz-centric. Yet, contrary to their mother's expectations, Bronwyn and her twin undoubtedly enjoyed the film.

Bassett explained that the twins followed along well with the film's themes and central messages. The actress also bragged about one of her most iconic roles as Tina Turner in 1993's "What's Love Got To Do With It," saying that her children don't know about it.

Regardless, Bronwyn's mom wanted them to discover the film on their own so they could fully grasp the weight of her talent someday. While Bronwyn seems to be taking an interest in advocacy, her brother is more musically inclined, with his mother disclosing that all he wanted was to focus on his lyricism.
