"I never struggled with being a shadow because I know who I am. But, I've struggled with adjusting, finding that person as life is happening."

Kenashia Survived Trauma

In 2020, when Kenashia turned 31, she used her birthday to share her life's journey from when she was a baby till her 31st birthday. The video she shared revealed that she was in an abusive relationship that led to a miscarriage.

She decided to share a few details about what happened to celebrate Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October 2022. According to her Instagram post, the last time the person abused her was November 27, 2018.

The abuse, which had become regular, broke her 8th and 9th teeth. It also changed her perspective on life and changed her entire life forever. Despite having accepted things she should never have, Kenashia said:

"I don't consider myself a victim or a survivor; this is all a part of my story, my life, and my journey."

When speaking to Angie, Kenashia never mentioned the name of her abuser, but she revealed that she was engaged and had been in a relationship with the person for 13 years. However, Ashanti hinted that Angie knew the person.

While the abuse was happening, Ashanti revealed it was a difficult and dark situation that affected their family. Kenashia's mother was also ready to fight for her but drew strength from her daughter because she did not want to end up in jail.

After Kenashia posted her video, Ashanti and their mother shared it, and they assured her they were proud of her while reaffirming their love for her.

However, while healing from painful experiences, Kenashia found it isolating and scary. So, she created "Wife of Creation" to help give people a sense of community as they heal and work on themselves.

She hopes her brand will inspire other Black women to be their authentic selves while creating a community where everyone can heal on a holistic level.

Since Slowbucks was the only one people knew Kenashia was dating at the time of the abuse, rumors began to spread that he was the abuser. 50 Cent also shared the video and accused Slowbucks of being the one who hit her.
