Tim McGraw has had a lifetime of success. With a thriving music career spanning several decades, the singer has achieved what remains a distant dream to many musicians.

But even with so many musical achievements, McGraw is most grateful for having found and married the love of his life, Faith Hill. The pair recently celebrated their 26th anniversary.

To commemorate the significant milestone, the singer posted a feel-good video montage of their most memorable moments on his Instagram, backed by their collaborated song "I Need You."

The video captured some of their favorite moments on stage that displayed plenty of affection, leaving their fans in tears. Their fans helped celebrate the day with them, and their daughter Maggie Elizabeth was not left behind.

She took to the comment section to acknowledge her parents' big day with a comment that said to pass her some tissues as she was in tears.

On her part, Hill posted a throwback video from the opening of their joint Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit from 2017. The pair, known for their onstage charisma and passionate kisses, did not disappoint the audience as they got all goofy with some hilarious commentary for the occasion.

The two singers weaved back and forth between expressing their devotion and love for each other, which has been the crux of their relationship. Hill told how much she loved the singer, noting that he was spicy, a handful, yet awesome:

"And he's just taught me to be spicier all the time. Thank you for my babies. I love them, and I love you."

"The Way You Love Me" singer continued her speech even as she got misty-eyed, confessing that their children were why she wanted to be the best person she could be.

Even though so much time has passed, McGraw is still as smitten with Hill as he was when they first met and did not shy away from showing it to the world. Days before their anniversary, he celebrated her birthday with a pompous post on his Instagram.

Posting a montage of her beautiful photos, and some of them together, the "It's Your Love" singer referred to Hill as his best friend and soul mate and the love of his life, adding:

"I can't believe that I get to spend my days and nights with you for the rest of my life!"

He also noted that she was a remarkable person and a fantastic role model to their three beautiful daughters, Gracie, Maggie Elizabeth, and Audrey Caroline.

Their book-worthy love story may appear perfect from the outside, but like any other couple, they have had their [un]fair share of challenges. However, their love remains strong and has weathered all the storms thrown their way. But where did it all begin?

Hill Initially Turned Down His Proposal, but Today They Are Doting Parents of Three

When the "Don't Take The Girl" crooner and the "Wild One" singer arrived at the Country Radio Seminar showcase in Nashville in 1994, they did not realize they were stepping foot into the rest of their lives.

At the time, McGraw was in a relationship with Kristine Donohue, while Hill was freshly divorced from her husband of six years, Daniel Hill, and was not looking for love. However, the universe had better plans for the two.

Two years after their first meeting, the pair's paths crossed again at McGraw's "Spontaneous Combustion" tour, and sparks flew. It appeared like the perfect time to fall in love and start a life together.

However, it so happened that at the time, even though McGraw was newly single, Hill was engaged to her former producer Scott Hendricks.

Hill knew deep down that she wanted to be with McGraw, and the mutual attraction between them only proved that they were each other's soulmates, so without a second thought, Hill ended her engagement with Hendrick and jumped into McGraw's arms.

They fell head over heels for each other and started dating. "We were young and silly and goo-goo-eyed in love," McGraw told People of their initial chemistry. It was a relationship headed for the altar, but as McGraw would soon realize, it was not as easy as he'd imagined enticing Hill to become his wife.

The "I Like It, I Love It" singer shared his experience on Twitter, disclosing that the pair had dated for a few months and McGraw could not wait to make the "Let's Make Love" singer his wife. But he was in for a rude shock when Hill turned his proposal down severally.

She had had her run with country musicians, and none of her relationships had ended well. It was, thus, understandable that she would be skeptical about getting involved with yet another singer. She would tell McGraw:

"I'm not going to get involved with another country singer. It's just not going to work out."

McGraw was, however, not one to give up easily. He retells how, on June 26, 1996, he tried his luck again during a tour. He says they had been on tour for months and stayed in a trailer house.

McGraw remembers having a case with a long mirror on it where he stored his stuff. On that particular day, Hill was standing in front of the mirror as they talked when suddenly, McGraw said:

"Look, let's get married."

Hill questioned how serious he was about proposing to her in a trailer house, and he said he was serious about it. But before she could give her answer, McGraw was called out to perform on stage.

He gave an outstanding performance, and when he returned to the trailer, he was in for a pleasant surprise. Even though Hill was not in there, he noticed kisses drawn on the long mirror, in a sharpie lipstick, alongside the words:

"Yes, I'm gonna be your wife."

McGraw was ecstatic and said that it was the best day of his life. Four months later, the two walked down the aisle in a private wedding in McGraw's hometown of Rayville, Louisiana. The pair reportedly invited their friends and family to what they said would be a softball game and concert but turned out to be their wedding.

Marrying Hill was a dream come true for McGraw, and their romance kept heating up after their unexpected nuptials. Then during the 24th annual American Music Awards in January 1997, Faith showed off her growing baby bump, a subtle announcement that they were expecting their first child.

They welcomed their first baby, daughter Grace, four months later in May 1997, followed by their second child, daughter Maggie on August 12, 1998, and then the last born, Audrey, in 2001.

Unlike their two older daughters' birth, Audrey's was not as smooth. The little girl was born eight weeks early, her lungs undeveloped, and weighing only 3 lbs. 11 oz. She had to spend several days in neonatal intensive care, where her parents could not even hold her.

It was a trying time for McGraw and Hill, and they worried about their daughter, with Hill confessing that the separation was the hardest thing she ever had to do. Luckily, the lovebirds had a fighter for a daughter, and she pulled through alright.

With a successful marriage and beautiful children, the couple set to work on their music projects together, going on their Soul2Soul Tours, the first of which they went on before they had their third daughter, and returned in 2006.

Besides their illustrious intertwined careers, the two are also hands-on parents. McGraw admitted that he grew up in a dysfunctional family and wanted to provide his family with a stable home.

People reported that McGraw and Hill took turns driving their girls to school and Maggie to dance classes when they were younger. He also helped coach Gracie's school basketball team, and the two often attended their daughter's games.

They have successfully raised responsible daughters who learned to do their chores early. Hill teaches her daughters the value of being accountable for their things, cleaning their clothes, and cooking their food.

Two of their daughters have followed in their parent's footsteps. Like her parents, Gracie has a beautiful voice that she showcases to her fans on Instagram, and she is also an aspiring actress. Their youngest, Audrey, has already made her acting debut appearing in her dad's music video for "7500 OBO."

Hill and McGraw are excited to see the wonderful people their daughters are growing into, but they say it is bittersweet watching their little girls become adults and start paving their life paths.

Faith Hill Saved McGraw from Himself

From the outside, McGraw and Hill's life may seem like a fairy tale — they have a beautiful family and thriving careers and are as in love as they were when they first began dating.

But it is noteworthy that their relationship has not been all roses and sunshine. With an illustrious music career, McGraw grew accustomed to the rockstar lifestyle that saw him do great shows and celebrate with unending parties.

Unfortunately, the pressures of staying on top of the charts made the "Humble and Kind" singer more and more dependent on mood-altering substances.

He disclosed that he would feel obliged to be "on" all the time, and drinking would make him feel confident and assertive on stage. He admits that he started drinking too much and did many other unwise things.

By the time his third daughter came along, he was already on a downward spiral that threatened to steal from him the one thing he cared most about — his family. Hill had had enough and gave him an ultimatum to choose between his family or his rockstar lifestyle. A friend told Press Reader:

"Her heart was breaking, so she finally told him point-blank, 'You can either have your family or you can have this horrible lifestyle. You can't have both.'"

The demand became the wake-up call McGraw had needed all along. He quit everything cold turkey and shifted his focus towards being a better husband to Hill and father to his girls. Hill's faith in marriage had saved him, and he would not be putting his family on the line again.

"She saved my life in a lot of ways — from myself more than anything. I can go down a dark road sometimes, and she pulls me out. My wife makes me a better man." The "Highway Don't Care" singer said of his wife.

In turn, his renewed commitment to his family won Hill's heart all over again, and she set out on a path to ensure that she always kept him in check so he could continue staying on top.

As loving as they seem to the masses, Hill is not afraid to put her foot down and call her husband out whenever he goes out of line, and she does not shy away from demanding change.

McGraw has confessed, on several occasions, that Hill's fearlessness to hold him accountable for his actions has helped him become a more honest person both at home and on stage and, as a result, helped his career.

In turn, McGraw, who has been in love with the "Piece of my Heart" songstress since he first saw her, recognizes his wife's efforts and acknowledges that without her intervention, he may have lost his family and a lot more. For that, he rewards her efforts and appreciates her with whatever she wants, be it gifts, affection, or time.
