He recently showed off another one of his passions, woodworking. In a TikTok, he knowledgeably takes the audience through the process of creating decorative windowsill panels.
Marriage Proposal in the Surf
The courtship was slow, and he asked his future wife out at her birthday party hosted by a mutual friend. The celebration backdrop was the first time they could "kick back, relax and really talk on a personal level," the politician mused.
They went for a walk on their first date, leading to a volleyball game with friends. The surfer proposed during a sunset session on the South Shore in Honolulu. She shared the romantic details in the New York Times wedding feature:
"He paddled over, pulled out a double-tethered contraption attached to a gold duct-tape-covered flotation device with a beautiful ring attached, and said, 'I have a question for you: Will you marry me?'"

In addition to his work in the political space for various public officials, the creative also works on commercial brand campaigns. He did a stunning sunset shoot for the Tag Aloha Co. swimwear on Lanikai Beach.
Abraham Williams Comments on Rust Set Shooting
From his experience with firearms and working on film sets, the cinematographer commented on Halyna Hutchins's fatal shooting by actor Alec Baldwin on the set of "Rust." He slammed media outlets for calling the weapon a "prop gun." He said:
"I've grown up shooting and done countless hours of training. To think that the weapons master either didn't know what they were doing or just down right neglected to follow the most basic firearms safety rules that could have prevented this is criminal."
He believes that what happened to Hutchins and director Joel Souza, who was also injured in the incident, was not an accident but "pure negligence."
Couple Hobby
While the couple might share common values, their love for their island's most popular sport got the sparks flying. Gabbard told NYT that their relationship was born from their shared passion for surfing and the ocean:
"As we got to know each other, we realized how much we actually had in common. Pretty soon, we were going on hikes, going surfing and spending as much time together as we could."
The couple often has an early morning surf before going to work. The former congresswoman has a photo of her coming out of the surf as a profile image on Facebook.
