Kevin recently revealed on Facebook that his father, Henry, had died without stating the latter's cause of death. The comedian also shared precious family photos to reminisce on how great his father was.
The pictures depicted Henry, Kevin, the latter's wife, Eniko Hart, and the couple's children enjoying several vacations together. Hart's statement read:
"RIP to one of the realest & rawest to ever do it…Love you dad. Gone but never forgotten….Give mom a hug for me….y’all did good man. Thank you for everything….I’m a better father because of you. We will all make you proud…."
Many followers expressed their condolences to Kevin. A netizen penned a heartwarming message for the grieving actor, thanking him for letting them know who Henry was through photos.
Another Kevin's fan expressed heartfelt sympathy, writing that Henry's death was "devastating" and that no amount of words could comfort the grieving actor except time.
Who Was Henry Robert Witherspoon?
In the past, Henry fought a battle against his addiction to various substances. Kevin and his brother, Robert, eventually checked their father into a rehab center.
After entering the rehab facility, Henry's life took a significant turn for the better. According to Hart, his father met an amazing woman who helped him stay clean and maintain his sobriety.
Hart maintained contact with Henry following the latter's improved wellness. He even invited his father to the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, where the actor received a star.

What Was Their Relationship before His Father Died?
Although his dad's actions affected Kevin's childhood negatively, the actor and his father soon made up. The comedian eventually forgave his father. He said he was already strong enough to deal with his past.
Besides Henry's recent death, Kevin experienced another heartbreak several years ago.

Besides Henry's recent death, Kevin experienced another heartbreak several years ago. Kevin's mother, Nancy Hart, died in 2007 after a battle with cancer.
Kevin admitted that it was hard for him to deal with his mother's death. Nancy was the "glue" that held their loved ones together by organizing family gatherings.
Despite losing his beloved mom, Kevin Hart ensured that Nancy's energy and legacy would continue to live. He also felt proud to carry Nancy's surname.
