Kirk Cameron's sister, Candace Cameron Bure, and the "Growing Pains" actor have become one of Hollywood's most popular siblings. They have a close relationship and a shared love for family, but Kirk and Candace are not always on the same page about some things.

Candace and Kirk come from a big family, and the famous Hallmark actress said she and her siblings had their shared values instilled in them by their parents. Their family was the most important thing for them, and from as early as her twenties, Candace decided not to take any roles that children or her parents could not watch.

Between Kirk, Candace, and their sisters, Bridgette and Melissa Cameron, their family had 17 grandchildren at the time of writing. Candace has three children, Natasha, Lev, and Maksim, with her husband, and Kirk has six children with his wife.

Inside Candace Cameron Bure and Kirk Cameron's Relationship

Kirk was the first of the acting siblings to hit the big screen with his breakout role in "Growing Pains" alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Candace followed a few years later when she landed her famous role in "Full House." The siblings have taken different paths since then.

Candace continued acting; she appeared in multiple Hallmark movies, "Dancing with the Stars," "The View," and the reboot of "Fuller House." She also had experience with producing and used her platform to voice her support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

On the other hand, Kirk was not as active on the Hollywood acting scene and became very outspoken about his religious beliefs. However, he did not leave the film industry altogether.

In 2022, he produced a documentary about the value of homeschooling and its efforts to protect children from what he said were harmful ideas such as critical race theory.

Kirk also has a series on TBN titled "Takeaways with Kirk Cameron," centered around modern-day Christianity. At the beginning of the series, Kirk's baby sister joined him during an episode titled "Faith and Family." And while introducing Candace, Kirk said while some siblings may be rivals, they were not.

They discussed Christianity and how they believed it impacted their relationships. Kirk expressed how proud he was of Candace for maintaining her faith in her successful career, and she responded by saying it was thanks to him. Candace said:

"You've encouraged me along the way. As your little sister, I've watched you and been so proud of you and the way you handled so many things."

During the final season of "Fuller House," Kirk made a guest appearance as himself, giving Kimmy Gabler, played by Andrea Barber, some advice about her on-screen relationship.

Candace Cameron Bure Doesn't Always Support Her Brother Kirk Cameron

Kirk has dedicated his life to his religious beliefs. At the pandemic's start, Kirk allegedly encouraged his supporters to join him in a Christmas caroling service, violating COVID-19 protocols.

His representatives said members and churches in Kirk's community organized the event, and the mask-less caroling occurred during California's mandate for people to stay at home.

Kirk said the event was organized to protest COVID-19 laws. He gave public interviews and shared videos of the caroling on his social media of multiple people gathered and singing without masks.

Kirk said the government's safety rules "seem like they're straight out of a scene from ["The Giver"]." The protest took place at The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks, California, and the mall later released a statement saying they did not condone the actions of the people who participated.

Candace received backlash when rumors began to swirl that she had attended one of her brother's caroling events. She took to Twitter to set the record straight and said:

"I did not attend any recent caroling events. Also, I choose to follow the greater guidelines by wearing a mask and social distance when I'm in public."

Although she did not attend the caroling event, Candace added that she did not appreciate people saying harmful things about her family and Kirk's actions. She said she believed "respectful dialogue is the key to being heard" and encouraged everyone to "stay safe."

Kirk's involvement at the protest caroling was not the first time he found himself in hot water. In 2012, he said homosexuality was "unnatural" and "detrimental" during an interview with Piers Morgan. His sister was not of the same opinion and has advocated for the inclusion of more LGBTQ-identifying people in Hallmark programs.

Candace Cameron Bure Shares Family Moment

Despite possible differences, Candace shows that family is still family. She honored her mom, Barbara, on Mother's Day with a picture of them and Candace's sisters. In the post, she thanked her mom for the "incredible" job she did raising her and her sisters.

Candace shared that becoming a mother increased her appreciation for her mom. Candace starred alongside her daughter, Natasha, in Hallmark's movie, "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Haunted by Murder," and could not have been a prouder mother. She said:

"I was having the best time because I had my camera out. I was videotaping everything she was doing. I just, like, 'stage-momming' it up in the best of ways. I loved it."

Natasha was 23 while filming "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Haunted by Murder," and her mother was even younger than that when she kickstarted her acting career.

"Full House" premiered in 1987, and its creator, Jeff Franklin, remembered being impressed with Candace and said she was a "natural."

Having a famous older brother did not hurt, but Jeff said it was more of a bonus than anything, as Candace Cameron Bure was already that good, even as a little girl.
