Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Daughter Zahara Dazzles at College Graduation – Photos
Between her glowing stage moment, her famous family in the crowd, and a rare appearance from her brother Knox, the photos tell a much bigger story.
Angelina Jolie's daughter's college graduation looked like a picture-perfect family celebration — but one detail from the ceremony has people looking twice.
Before getting to the young lady's big day, though, there was another family moment from last year (2025) that helps explain why fans are watching the Jolie-Pitt children's names so closely.
Shiloh Debuted a New Moniker at a 2025 Event
Shiloh Jolie, the daughter of Hollywood icons Angelina and Brad Pitt, made a striking public appearance in May 2025 in Los Angeles. The 19-year-old attended a celebratory dinner for French Designer Isabel Marant's capsule collection launch with Net-A-Porter.

But this wasn't just another red carpet moment... It marked a personal and professional evolution for Shiloh — and the debut of a new identity. At the stylish soirée, Shiloh wasn't merely mingling among the fashion crowd; she played a pivotal creative role, choreographing a performance that blended dance and live music.
The performance accompanied Singer-Songwriter Luella's live rendition of her single "Naïve" and featured dancers Keoni Rose and Tako Suzuki. According to a press release obtained by Page Six, Shiloh received formal credit as the choreographer. However, the name listed wasn't the one the public has long known.

She was credited as "Shi Joli." Her name change was more than symbolic. It marked a personal turning point, underscoring her growing independence.
The first name is a creative twist on her birth name, while the second pays tribute to her mother, Jolie. The public quickly noticed that she had dropped "Pitt," her father's last name, but this change wasn't entirely new.

In May 2024, on her 18th birthday, Shiloh formally requested to remove "Pitt" from her name. Three months later, in August 2024, a judge approved the change, legally transforming Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt into Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. But what stood out most was how she went about it.

Shiloh reportedly handled the process entirely on her own. According to reports, she hired a lawyer and covered the expenses herself; her mother was not involved.
In July of that year, Attorney Peter Levine issued a statement that offered more context. He described Shiloh's name change as an independent and significant decision following painful events. While the attorney did not elaborate on those events, the comment hinted at the emotional weight behind the choice.
This wasn't an isolated move within the Jolie-Pitt family. Shiloh joins other siblings who have also distanced themselves from the "Pitt" surname following the former couple's drawn-out separation.

Angelina Jolie's Daughter Takes the Spelman Graduation Stage
And now, Shiloh's older sister's graduation has brought that conversation right back into the spotlight. Over the weekend, Zahara stepped into a major new chapter as she graduated from Spelman College, and she did it with the kind of radiant smile that made the moment feel especially emotional.
In Spelman College's 2026 Commencement Ceremony footage, the graduate was called to the stage as "Zahara Marley Jolie" — notably, with no hyphenated "Pitt" at the end.
It was a brief moment in the more than two-hour ceremony, but it carried a lot of weight for those who have followed the famous family. Zahara did not need to say anything herself — the announcement said plenty.

In the graduation footage, Zahara can be seen walking across the stage in her black cap and gown, with a pale stole draped over her shoulders. She appears poised and happy as she accepts her achievement, shaking hands with top alumnae and professionals.
The scene was formal, but still warm. Zahara's smile, her confident walk, and the applause around her made it clear that this was a proud day first and foremost. More photos from the Spelman College commencement showed Zahara beaming in her graduation attire. In one image, she turns back with a bright smile, holding her diploma cover as the Spelman emblem stands behind her.
Angelina Jolie's Proud Spelman Moment Comes Full Circle
After four years at Spelman, Zahara appeared ready for the next chapter and very aware that the day belonged to her. Her mother, Angelina, has been publicly supportive of Zahara's Spelman journey from the beginning.
Back in July 2022, the proud mom shared an Instagram post showing Zahara smiling with fellow Spelman students and wrote, "Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all new students starting this year. A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl. #spelman #spelmancollege #spelmansisters #HBCU."
The sweet post now reads like a full-circle moment, with Zahara officially graduating from the school her mother once proudly celebrated.
The Alleged Reason Brad Pitt Missed the Milestone
According to TMZ, Zahara's father, Brad, allegedly did not reach out ahead of his daughter's graduation. The outlet reported that a source close to Angelina said Zahara's "mom and siblings" were present and cheering her and her Spelman sisters on.
The same source told TMZ, "Nothing prevented him from showing up for her. Or ever visiting her. The day was about all she accomplished. Not whether he was willing to attend."
Sources connected to Brad, however, reportedly told TMZ that he did not reach out because of how estranged he has become from his children, saying any outreach would be unwelcome. TMZ also noted that Zahara has not had a close relationship with Brad since his split from Angelina.
The outlet further reported that Zahara began going by Zahara Marley Jolie while at college. It also pointed to other name-related moments in the family, including Shiloh filing a petition to legally drop "Pitt" and Vivienne being listed as Vivienne Jolie when she worked on "The Outsiders."

Knox Jolie-Pitt Makes a Rare Appearance at the Graduation
Still, Zahara was not without family support at the ceremony. Angelina was reportedly there, along with Zahara's brothers Pax, Maddox, and Knox Jolie-Pitt. And Knox's appearance created its own wave of chatter.
In photos published by the Daily Mail, Knox is seen attending his sister's graduation in a slate gray suit. The 17-year-old showed off a bold new look, with dark hair accented by frosted platinum tips.

Fans Can't Stop Debating Knox's Family Resemblance
Knox's look immediately got people talking, especially because many feel he resembles his father. His sharp suit, serious expression, and highlighted hair made the family resemblance debate explode online. On Facebook, one commenter wrote, "Got his dad's eyes."
However, another disagreed, declaring, "No. Looks more like his mum." A third person chimed in with, "He has those BP blue eyes. ❤️."

Someone else added, "He looks more like her." The debate continued on X, where one user opined, "He does look like dad."
Another posted, "There is a resemblance to Brad, which it should be. But, IMO he looks like Angelina more and her dad - really Jon Voight (grandpap) [sic]." A third user kept it more cautious, writing, "He VAGUELY resembles his father."
Zahara's Spelman Journey Ends with a Powerful New Chapter
While Knox's appearance certainly sparked a lively side conversation, the heart of the day remained Zahara's accomplishment. She graduated from Spelman after majoring in psychology with a minor in educational studies, according to the Daily Mail.
It is not yet clear what Zahara Marley Jolie plans to do next, but she appears to have plenty of options ahead of her. And if her graduation smile was any clue, she is stepping into the future with full confidence.

Between her proud walk across the stage, Angelina's visible support, the name announcement, and Knox's rare appearance, Zahara's graduation was anything but an ordinary celebrity family outing.
The ceremony may have lasted hours, but fans needed only a few photos — and one carefully heard name — to understand why this milestone is making headlines.
