American Actor Mark Harmon is one remarkable winner on the big screen and in reality. Besides having a career in acting spanning over five decades, the Hollywood star is happily married to his wife, Pam Dawber. In March 2022, Harmon and Dawber celebrated 35 years of marital bliss and could not be more grateful for the love they shared.
Over the years, fans have attested to the love the couple has for each other, as Harmon and Dawber often gush about each other on social media and during interviews.

One such time was during a 2019 chat with People magazine, where the "NCIS" star noted that he was proud to be married to his wife. According to Harmon, whenever he was not on set, he always ensured he had a ring on his marriage finger.
The entertainment icon explained that he did so because he was proud to be married and proud of who he was married to. Undoubtedly, Harmon and Dawber are one of the most inspiring couples in Hollywood.

Many have wondered what the secret is for a union as long-lasting and solid as theirs. Well, the actor once insinuated that it all boiled down to the unintelligent things they did during the early stages of their relationship. According to him:
"We were both in our thirties when we got married, so hopefully, the stupid stuff we did earlier. That's probably the closest I have to what the key is."
In addition, having a good sense of humor has also played a role in the couple's marriage longevity. It connected Harmon and Dawber when they first crossed paths through a mutual friend.

The lovebirds' connection led to them dating and eventually walking down the aisle in 1987. Over three years later, Harmon feels fortunate to be married to Dawber and describes his wife as a "neat lady."
Besides being a happy couple, the movie stars are doting parents to two grown-up boys, Sean and Ty. Like their parents, the brothers are rooted in the entertainment industry. Sean is an actor and has starred as young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in "NCIS" since 2008.

On the other hand, Ty works behind the camera as a screenwriter. Now, with two grown-up and successful sons and a beautiful wife, Harmon is trying their best to foster his family as his father did.
Mark Tries to Foster, His Family like His Dad
In October 2021, Harmon said goodbye to his starring role as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in "NCIS." But even though the actor is no longer a part of the show, he still lives with his wife near the "NCIS" Los Angeles set in Santa Monica, California.
Harmon said he was thrilled to work with the director Carl Reiner, but when he told Dawber about it, she asked him not to do it.

At the same time, the couple lives near their two children. According to reports, Harmon is trying everything possible to develop the kind of family life he had while growing up.
The "Certain Prey" star spent his childhood years in Burbank with his father, Tom. Tom was one of Harmon's biggest inspirations career-wise and in his dealings as a father. In 1954, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame when Harmon was only three.

Tom's love for football rubbed off on his son, who recalled always being outside with a ball at a young age. As the baby of the house, Harmon described his young self as a "golden retriever," always searching for someone to throw a ball and play with.
But whenever he was not with a ball, Harmon was having some father-and-son time with Tom. The actor once recalled what weekends in the garage with his dad looked like. According to the Hollywood icon:
"I usually handled the broom and the sweep-up, but I watched him, and then I got to do something once in a while."

Ultimately, due to his unique bond with Tom, Harmon wanted to be a present and attentive father, just like his dad. Now, decades after welcoming his two boys, the actor seems to have a close relationship with his children. He and Dawber spend time during family dinners with Sean and Ty and their girlfriends.
In addition to spending quality time with his sons, Harmon also showers them with support and sings their praises. During a 2022 interview, the proud dad of two spoke about his sons and how hardworking they were.

Harmon said he was proud of how Sean put a lot of effort into his work and how he approached being an actor. He also noted (via Hello):
"I'm proud of both our boys, and they work hard at what they do, and I'm proud that they get up in the morning and try to do that every day."
Mark and Pam's Differences Made Their Marriage Strong
Harmon and Dawber may have been married for decades and seem like the perfect pair, but like every other couple, they have disagreements once in a while.

The actor once recalled when his wife opposed his decision to play goofy teacher Freddy Shoop in the hit comedy "Summer School."
Harmon said he was thrilled to work with the director Carl Reiner, but when he told Dawber about it, she asked him not to do it. Nevertheless, it was out of the ordinary for the star, as he knew that he and his wife were different. In his words:
"We don't generally like the same thing, and that's been healthy for us."

But despite the disagreements Harmon and Dawber experience, the lovebirds' most-liked thing to do is "just be with each other and… that's it."
Seeing the actor enjoy marital bliss and having a lovely family is beautiful. Hopefully, Harmon and Dawber will remain an inspiration to many young couples.
