According to Fox News, which cited Russell's interview with The Wall Street Journal, the actor reflected on reconnecting with Hawn in 1983 while filming "Swing Shift," years after the pair first met on the set of "The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band" in 1967.

By the time they reunited, both actors had already gone through divorces and were raising children from previous relationships.

Russell said their relationship began with a simple understanding: "We hit it off and agreed, 'Let's have fun until we don't.' It's been 43 years."

Before her decades-long romance with Russell, Hawn had already made headlines for another high-profile Hollywood relationship.

As previously reported, Hawn was in a relationship with actor Burt Reynolds. Both starred in the movie "Best Friends" in 1982. The pair enjoyed their time together in the film, where they played husband and wife, and eventually, their relationship turned into something more.
