Throughout his rollercoaster ride of a career, country and rock vocalist Jerry Lee Lewis welcomed six children from his several marriages. Unfortunately, he lost two of them long before the 20th century ended.

Jerry Lee Lewis married for a second time just three weeks before finalizing his divorce from Dorothy Barton. From this second marriage, which lasted for four years, Jerry Lee welcomed his first two children, Jerry Lee Lewis Jr and Ronnie Guy Lewis.

A few years after divorcing his second wife, Jerry Lee married his cousin's daughter. The former couple – who received ample negative press for their union – shared two kids, Steven Allen Lewis and Phoebe Allen Lewis.

Jerry Lee and his fourth wife – who died while they processed their divorce – welcomed Lori Leigh. The "Great Balls of Fire" singer's lastborn is Jerry Lee Lewis III, born from his sixth marriage. Jerry Lee married again in 2012 and is still with his seventh wife, Judith Brown.

Jerry Lee Lewis Lost His Sons Young

In 1953, Jerry Lee Lewis tied the knot for the second time with Jane Mitchum. The couple welcomed their firstborn, Jerry Lee Lewis Jr, that same year. According to a 1973 issue of The New York Times, Jerry Lee Jr tragically passed at 19 due to a fatal auto accident in November of that year.

Jerry Lee Jr had followed in his father's footsteps into the entertainment industry. He was a drummer and had appeared on NBC's "Midnight Special" with his band about a week before he died. Jerry Lee Jr's parents divorced in 1957.

That year, Jerry Lee was 22 when he secretly married his cousin's 13-year-old daughter, Myra Gale Brown (now Myra Lewis). The former couple first welcomed Steven Allen Lewis in 1959. However, Steven Allen also passed at the young age of 3 after drowning.

In 2015, Jerry Lee opened up about these two losses in an interview with The Guardian. The rock and country singer doubted that the deaths of his sons made him stronger, but he expressed how losing them brought great sadness and hardship.

Still, he managed to pick himself up and handle the burials and everything else. However, what followed after Jerry Lee Jr's death was a severe drinking problem, which led to many health issues. According to his IMDb, Jerry Lee suffered a near-death experience in 1981 due to a ruptured stomach.

Jerry Lee Lewis Sued His Daughter Phoebe Allen

Phoebe Allen Lewis drew her first breath in 1963. She is Jerry Lee Lewis's secondborn from his marriage to Myra Lewis. According to Page Six, Phoebe Allen managed her father's career between 2000 and 2012.

In 2017, the outlet reported that Jerry Lee was suing his daughter for how she treated him during those years. Jerry Lee accused Phoebe Allen of abusing him and forcing him to live on drugged cocktails.

Furthermore, she reportedly kept feeding her father spiked alcoholic drinks to keep him under her control. Phoebe Allen also allegedly forced her father to go on tours despite his health problems. She would isolate him in a toxically hazardous house where he was forced to wear an oxygen mask.

The rock legend also accused Phoebe Allen and her husband, Ezekiel Loftin, of plotting to spend his earnings. A week before suing his daughter, Jerry Lee had filed a lawsuit for Loftin. Phoebe Allen's husband had reportedly spent $5 million of Jerry Lee's fortune on real estate, cars, and plastic surgery.

Other Children of Jerry Lee Lewis

Before separating, Jerry Lee Lewis and Jane Mitchum had a second son, Ronnie Guy Lewis, born in 1956. In 1984, Jerry Lee married Kerrie McCarver. The couple welcomed Jerry Lee Lewis III in 1987.

Jerry Lee was married to Jaren Elizabeth Gunn Pate between 1971 and 1982 - the year she died. According to the 1982 issue of Tuscaloosa News, the couple had one daughter named Lori Leigh, who was ten years old at the time of publication. Therefore, she was likely born in 1972 and is 50 years old today.
