He was in multiple reality shows like "House Of Carters," VH1's "I Heart Nick Carter," and, like Aaron, appeared on "Dancing with the Stars." His little brother placed fifth in season nine, while the Backstreet Boy was first runner-up in season 21.

Leslie Carter was a pop singer like her brothers. Her debut song, "Like Wow!" was included in the "Shrek" soundtrack. She married Mike Ashton and gave birth to their daughter Alyssa on April 1, 2011.

Leslie Carter died when she was 25 from a drug overdose. According to a news report, she was found in her house in Mayville, New York, on January 31, 2012, with multiple prescription medications found near her body.

On November 30, 2021, Aaron accused his family of trying to send him to jail and place him under a conservatorship. He railed against the mother of his child, Melanie Martin, for being in contact with his twin sister.

A source close to the family refuted these claims and said that Nick and his wife had not spoken to the "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" singer in years, and it was unclear where he got his information.

The rapper claimed in a magazine interview in 2016 that he had been the Carter family's primary breadwinner since he was nine. He criticized his brother Nick for not helping anyone after he left the house at 18. He did not attend Nick's wedding in 2014.

Conrad and Nick took legal action after Aaron allegedly threatened both their families. In the restraining order seen, Nick wrote that he believed his brother wanted to kill his then-pregnant wife and unborn child.

His twin's family was allegedly threatened over a phone call on September 5, 2019. Conrad wrote in the filing that Aaron said he had people who would hurt them.

Conrad and Nick filed a restraining order against Aaron in September 2009; the rapper was barred from contacting them and their families for a year. Aaron accused his sister of lying and hushing him from speaking about Nick's alleged sexual misconduct.

Following the order, Aaron said on social media that he would abide by the judge's ruling but would not stop speaking for Melissa Schuman and other assault victims.

Schuman, an actress and a member of the girl group Dream, accused Nick in 2017 of raping her back in 2008 when she was 18. The Backstreet Boy denied the allegations in a statement to the media. Due to the statute of limitations, no charges were pressed against the singer.

Conrad spoke to her twin two days before his death. She said that he knew his family "cherished him," but one could not help someone who did not want to be helped. She ended the message by saying her brother is embedded in her soul.

"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you, Chizz."
