On November 6, 2022, the Backstreet Boys had a concert in London where they paid tribute to Nick Carter's late brother, Aaron Carter. The show was held a day after Aaron's death.

The then 42-year-old musician visibly cried on stage as the boy band performed "No Place." Nick couldn't help but be emotional as photos of him, and his younger brother played on screen.

His bandmates, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean, and Howie Dorough, tried to comfort him by giving him hugs. Kevin Richardson took that moment as a cue to speak to the crow revealing how the band had "heavy hearts" that night.

The musician explained that the band had lost one of their family members the day before their concert. He revealed that they wanted a moment during their performance to recognize the person before sharing that it was Nick's younger brother.

Richardson, then 51, told the audience that Aaron had been a part of their family. As images and videos from the concert circulated, many fans took to the comment sections to share their views and condolences.

One social media user was so moved by seeing Aaron's older brother crying for him on stage that they shared how they believed the siblings genuinely loved each other. Nick's breaking down onstage showed how bonded he'd been to his younger brother.

What Type of Relationship Did the Two Brothers Have?

After it was announced that Aaron had passed away at age 34, Nick took to social media to mourn him publically. In an Instagram post, the Backstreet Boys member revealed that even though he and his sibling had a "complicated relationship," his love for him had never faded.

Alongside images of him and Aaron throughout the years, Nick shared how he'd remained hopeful that someday and somehow, his brother would want to take a healthier path in life. The star had hoped Aaron would eventually find the help he needed, adding:

"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here."

The singer also revealed how'd he'd miss his younger brother more than people would know. He concluded his loving message by using Aaron's nickname for him, "Chizz," sharing how he loved him and hoped the late artist could finally find the peace he couldn't attain on Earth.

Nick also asked God to take care of his baby brother. A source close to the Carters told CNN that Aaron, famous for songs like "That's How I Beat Shaq" and "I Want Candy," was discovered lifeless in his bathtub.

Days after Nick's younger brother's body was found, it still wasn't clear what had happened to him. However, reports revealed that someone who worked for Aaron was the one who discovered him and called the police.

The address given appeared to be Aaron's [Carter] Lancaster, California, home, where deputies responded to reports of a medical emergency.

What Is Known about What Happened to Aaron?

Like his older sibling, Aaron was famous for being a singer, producer, and rapper who started his musical career as a child. By the time he was a teenager, he'd already released several hit albums, and on November 5, 2022, he was found dead at his Southern California home.

Representatives of the Carter family confirmed the younger singer's death and his fiancée, Melanie Martin, asked for privacy during this trying time. Some fans might recall how Aaron had acted as an opening act for his older brother's band.

He'd also played the same role for Britney Spears and recorded several hit songs, including "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)." A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesperson told the publication that a call for help was received and responded to on November 5, 2022.

The address given appeared to be Aaron's Lancaster, California, home, where deputies responded to reports of a medical emergency. The call came in at around 11 a.m. from a desert city about 70 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

When the police arrived, that's when they discovered a body. At the time, Deputy Alejandra Parra from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said she couldn't confirm if the deceased person were indeed Aaron.

However, Parra did confirm that a house sitter discovered the man's body. Efforts to resuscitate the person believed to be Nick's brother were unsuccessful, leaving many people brokenhearted and torn apart by the loss.
