Jon Cryer's career suffered after his son was born, but he had no plans to become "Mr. Mom" because he loved his career. He later married Lisa Joyner, and they adopted a daughter who once went viral for her talent. It was a big step for Joyner, who was an adoptee herself.

Parenthood is not an easy responsibility that never leaves all the parties involved the same. When "Two and a Half Men" star Jon Cryer welcomed his first child, things changed for him, and he quickly noticed it.

After the birth of his son, Cryer endured a prolonged period of unemployment that lasted close to three years. During that time, he thought he would become a "Mr. Mom," a father who would stay home and be a great father while taking care of business.

It did not take him long to realize that being a full-time parent did not suit him. He had to do what he enjoyed, which was acting actively. Cryer later admitted that it takes a lot to maintain constant surveillance on a growing child, and he found that hard to do.

This is why he admires other parents who have chosen to live like that. Cryer is still a great parent, but it was only when his son got older that he started to enjoy being a parent.

The actor had his first child, Charlie, with Sarah Trigger, whom he was married to in the past. When Cryer realized he could not be a full-time parent, Trigger's custody time increased to up to 50%, and this was part of the reason she decided to sue him in court in 2014 to increase the amount he was paying in child support.

The amount he had initially been mandated to pay for child support was $8,000 monthly; however, Trigger tried to increase that amount to $88,000. Another reason she cited was their son's alleged pauper lifestyle.

One of the biggest reasons she wanted to know who her family was was so she could know her biological history.

According to her, Charlie had become an object of ridicule in his school because he could not afford the luxuries his classmates easily flaunted in school, which was unacceptable. The judge listened to what she had to say but was not sympathetic to her plight, so the motion was not supported.

Cryer Meets the One

Everyone deserves a second chance, especially where love is concerned. Not long after Cryer realized that he could not do parenting by himself, he found a woman that completed him in ways he had not even begun to imagine.

The woman's name is Lisa Joyner, a Los Angeles TV reporter, and it took him approximately six weeks to tell her he was into her. When they first met, Joyner had believed she had found herself a new "best gay friend."

They spent those first few weeks getting to know each other as friends before finally kissing. Joyner thinks that if things had not happened like that, they would not have ended up together, but after that first kiss, they both knew nothing would ever remain the same.

The lovable couple tied the knot in Mexico towards the end of 2007 after getting engaged in January of the same year. The ceremony occurred at the Chapel at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, while the reception went down at a private location.

For the wedding, Joyner was dressed in an A-Line Empire waist gown designed by Monique Lhuiller. It was complemented with ivory lace over champagne satin. The ceremony was attended by friends and family, who could see how happy Joyner made Cryer.

Two years after marriage, Cryer and Joyner expanded their family by adopting a baby girl. The child was named Daisy and was born on August 11, 2009, making her the first child the couple welcomed together.

It was a big decision for Joyner, who was also adopted as a child. Her adoption has been a great motivation for her, which is why she is a passionate advocate for adoption. Joyner believes adoption should not be the last option and has been very vocal about how she feels.

Joyner has found her birth parents, but she remains close to her adoptive family because of how good they were to her as a child. According to the TV host, one of the biggest reasons she wanted to know who her family was was so she could know her biological history.

Joyner and Cryer are a great couple, and since they married, they have joined hands to do some great things in their environment. Last year, they revealed how they were helping homeless people by situating them in tiny homes where they could rest with both eyes closed.

The homes were well furnished, and the occupants were provided with a patio where they could get three square meals a day for their stay. The news was shared on ET's Facebook page and caused many users to praise them.

Joyner and Cryer have a charity foundation he opened in her name to honor her late father, which is another proof of how much he admires her.

Cryer is Now a Doting Father

Cryer is still not a "Mr. Mom," but he is a doting father to his two kids. A couple of years ago, he opened up about how his daughter, Daisy, went viral after he shared a picture of the comic she was working on titled "Gnar Wars."

The actor now enjoys spending as much time as he can with his family, and they have been pictured together on many family trips. When they are not traveling, the family of four can be found enjoying each other's company at different spots, including the Farmer,s Market in California.

Cryer takes his kids everywhere and ensures that his acting work does not interfere with his daddy duties. Perhaps he is a Mr. Mom, after all.
