Despite her sudden passing, Kirstie could rest easy knowing her closest family and two children were at her side when she breathed her last. Her fellow Scientologist, John Travolta, led the wave of honorary social media posts with a touching tribute, mentioning that he truly loved her.

What Will Kirstie Alley's Memorial Be Like?

Kirstie was a devout Scientologist and made it to "Thetan 8," the highest status members can have. To confirm her status, she was taken on the church's ship, the Freewind. She joined the church before she made it in show business.

Although the funeral has not officially been confirmed, insiders have claimed the church is working hard to make the ceremony happen.

Due to the beliefs of her church, Kirstie avoided scientifically-proven cancer treatments. Instead, she adhered to the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard, the church's founder. Only when the cancer had developed past its first stage did she seek out medical help.

Instead, Scientology believes that cancer is a "sexual upset in the body" rather than an illness that can be influenced by external factors. The teachings of the church suggest that cancer can only originate when there is some sort of internal or emotional disturbance, such as intense psychological trauma.
