The beloved 54-year-old singer released the news via her Instagram account. She posted a video in which she explained her absence from live music. She struggled to hold back tears while speaking and admitted that the illness has affected her life in a multitude of ways. Despite this, she said:

"I have a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better and my precious children who are supporting me and giving me help."

At the end of the video, she couldn't hold her tears back anymore. She explained that the illness is responsible for the spasms she has been having for the last while. She also said these spasms make everyday life seem like an impossible challenge.

How Did Celine Fight for her Husband's Life?

This isn't the musician's first brush with the healthcare industry. Her husband, Rene Angelil, had been diagnosed with cancer several times. He was initially diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999 and underwent surgery. The disease returned, and he went under the knife again in 2013.

The singer said having children changed her life completely.

Just a year after his second operation, Rene's cancer appeared once more. His wife opened up at the time, saying the doctors had no way of determining how long her husband would live. Whenever he got sick, she would put her career on hold to look after Rene.

She admitted that keeping her composure for the sake of her family was challenging, but she knew she had to be strong for everyone. Rene's last wish was to die in her arms, and in 2020, the music producer passed away due to natural causes.

Celine and Rene were married from 1994 until his passing, and they had three sons together, Rene-Charles Angelil, the oldest, and a pair of twins, Nelson and Eddy Angelil. The singer has said the three have stepped up and are ready to support her.

Celine's Bonds with Sons

Celine shares a very close bond with her three sons. The singer said having children changed her life completely. She said that nothing could ever compare to raising kids and knowing she has the three of them at home:

"I mean, everything has changed in my life because of me being a mother. Nothing will ever beat the fact that the real, true values are waiting for me at my house, in my heart."

On May 8, the "That's The Way It Is" singer posted a photo on Instagram to celebrate Mother's day and show off her three boys. The image showed Celine sitting with her three sons spread out around her. In front of the musician was a pink cake with candles.

In the caption, she dedicated the post to all the mothers worldwide who could not celebrate the day with their families or celebrated amid terrible violence. She commended all mothers for their strength and devotion.

Although things seem bleak at the moment for Celine, she finds strength in her sons. It's evident from her post that her sons love her, and they'll do everything in their power to ensure she has what she needs in this uncertain time.
