Julian Henry De Niro's Acting Debut Saw Him Starring Alongside Selena Gomez

Julian Henry De Niro followed in his famous father's footsteps and has been an actor on the rise after landing roles such as playing a young Barack Obama. However, Julian Henry de Niro is skilled in acting and has a Master's degree in Computer Science.

Julian is one of Robert de Niro and Toukie Smith's sons and an actor who has co-starred alongside an impressive list of Hollywood stars.

While his father is commonly known for his award-winning career in films like "The Godfather" and "The Irishman," Julian decided to enroll in university and study drama before setting his sites on acting.

Julian de Niro Started to Make a Name for Himself after Debuting with A-Listers

Julian's earliest acting credit came in 2015 when he landed a role in "In Dubious Battle," a film directed and produced by James Franco, loosely based on the 1963 novel of the same name.

Julian played a character called Billy. Although his role was minor, he shared the screen with Franco, Selena Gomez, and Robert Duvall while getting a taste of a professional movie set.

In early 2022, Julian added playing a young Barack Obama onto his resume after being cast to co-star in "The First Lady." The Wrap wrote:

"We see a young Barack Obama (an extremely stiff Julian De Niro) courting fellow lawyer Michelle Robinson (Jayme Lawson.)"

The TV series about three of the most influential First Ladies aired in April on Showtime. The cast included Gillian Anderson and Kiefer Sutherland as Eleanor and Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Michelle Pfeiffer and Aaron Eckhart as Betty and Gerald Ford.

Julian de Niro Did Not Neglect His Studies despite Pursuing a Career in Acting

Julian studied Drama at NYU Tisch as an undergrad and at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Besides his passion for acting, Julian obtained a double major in Math and Computer Science.

He furthered his studies when he pursued his Master's degree in Computer Science and was one of two students and his professor to have their article published in The Washington Post in 2018.

The article, titled "What the world wants," discussed what people desire while searching on social media, and NYU posted the survey and its results on Twitter.

Although his popularity has picked up over the years, Julian maintains a very low profile on social media. He had over six hundred followers and four posts on Instagram at the time of writing and posted irregularly on the social media platform.

However, in October 2021, he shared pictures of a trip to Egypt with company. The images included a shot of a hot air balloon in front of a sunset and multiple images of Julian in front of a pyramid.

In July, he enjoyed his summer in England at Soho Farm and posted shots of his journey on the train and his stay in the English countryside.

Although Julian and Robert De Niro have public events together, Julian was solo when he walked the carpet at the premiere of "The First Lady" in California on April 14 in a dark-colored suit paired with a light grey tie and white sneakers.

While speaking about the TV series, Showtime's president of entertainment, Jana Winograde, sang Viola Davis' praises, Julian's co-star in "The First Lady," and said:

"Having Viola Davis play Michelle Obama is a dream come true, and we couldn't be luckier to have her extraordinary talent to help launch this series."

Viola Davis also took to social media to share how proud and honored she felt to be portraying Michelle Obama in her older years on "The First Lady," referring to Michelle as "the Queen."
