Lea Thompson set the bar for Hollywood success in her family. Before taking the leap to move to try and make it in Hollywood, The Minnesota native started out as a ballet dancer. However, Lea soon realized she wanted more from life, and when she landed a role in the 1983 film, "Jaws 3-D," she proved she had the talent.

After the success of the aquatic thriller, Lea's career took off, and her name spread throughout the film industry. She starred in numerous films throughout her career and acted alongside Micheal J. Fox in the "Back to the Future" movie franchise as Marty McFly's mother. Later, she also worked in TV shows and started directing.

While Lea's career was skyrocketing, she got a lead part in the film "Some Kind of Wonderful," which was directed by Howard Deutch. During the making of the film, Hughes and Lea built a rapport, and they quickly started dating. Eventually, the pair married and had two daughters, Madelyn Deutch (1991) and Zoey Deutch (1994).

Besides being devoted to her career, Lea is also an advocate of a healthy and balanced lifestyle. She opened up about her efforts to stay fit and said she enjoys yoga and a brisk walk to warm up, followed by a seven-minute fitness program which she referred to as the "seven-minute scientific workout."

Who Is Lea Thompson's Look-Alike Daughter?

But Lea isn't the only one in her family to make it in Hollywood. Over the years, her youngest daughter has proved herself to be just as striking and talented as her famous mother. Moreover, the youngest Deutch sibling can easily be her mother's doppelganger, making her even more of a shoo-in for Hollywood.

Besides their eye-catching strawberry-blonde locks, Lea and Zoey share several similar traits. With matching light complexions and robust facial features, Zoey could easily be mistaken for the younger version of her mom. A Twitter user remarked in astonishment on how similar the two looked in a birthday post dedicated to the actress:

"Happy Birthday to you, Zoey Deutch! You are a perfect copy of your mother Lea Thompson"

In an intimate one-on-one interview, the two asked each other questions about life and revealed their loving relationship. When Zoey inquired how her mom kept her looks so youthful and beautiful, Lea said it's due to genetics and "clean living" and thanked her for the lovely compliment.

Lea and her husband Howard have impressively been together since 1989, and the two are still going strong. Interestingly, Lea would never have starred in the iconic "Some Kind of Wonderful" if it wasn't for Howard and his insistence that he wanted her for the role. However, Lea initially declined when he offered her the part.

Although Lea had no interest in the film, Howard didn't give up. He wanted her in the movie, and he kept asking her, and eventually, in 1986, she agreed when the film "Howard the Duck" did terribly. So, Lea decided to be a part of Harold's film, and the director never looked back.

With Lea aboard, the film was a great success, and Harold was absolutely over the moon to see the excellent effect she had on the production. He spoke candidly about his casting choices and mentioned that Lea's performance made the movie much more than even he thought it would. He shared:

"She had a lot to do, as far as I'm concerned, with the tone changing of that movie as well as some of the other casting. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made."

During the filming and production of the film, Howard and Lea grew closer, and they started dating. Two years after the release of the movie, in 1989, the actress and the director tied the knot. They had their two daughters together, and they spent their lives blissfully married.

The couple has been together for more than 30 years, and they celebrate their anniversary annually. In 2019, Lea marked the occasion with a picture of her and Howard in a restaurant booth, and she captioned it, "Howie Deutch thanks for sticking with me and being so funny."
