Mary James Marsden Is James Marsden's Only Daughter

Mary James Marsden is actor James Marsden's daughter who made quite an impression after a short clip of her reciting the book "Where the Wild Things Are" went viral.

Mary caught the public's attention at a young age because of her famous father. Even though Mary is now in her teens, she is still talented and destined for greatness.

Her father likes to show off some of her talents by sharing videos on his Instagram page. It seems Mary's father is supportive of her talents and is proud of all the milestones she has made. Here's what we know about James Marden's daughter.

Mary Can Rarely Be Seen in Public

Mary James Marsden was born on August 11, 2005. On Mary's 13th birthday, her father shared a photo of him and her alongside a sweet tribute to celebrate his daughter's special day. The actor said even though she was still growing and had many birthdays to celebrate, she would never grow too big for him to hold in his arms.

Unlike Mary, who prefers life out of the spotlight, Jack has made several appearances at red-carpet events.

Even though Mary's father is in the limelight, she has lived most of her life out of the public eye, and it's unclear if she has any social media accounts. However, in August 2022, she and her family attended the premiere of "Sonic the Hedgehog 2," in which her father co-stars alongside Jim Carrey and Tika Sumpter.

Mary's Parents Married When They Were Both Young but Later Grew Apart

In the early 2000s, Mary's parents appeared to be the perfect Hollywood couple. The two seemed to have a flourishing love life that could last a lifetime, but that was far from the truth.

Mary's parents tied the knot in July 2000 while both were in their twenties. In the course of their union, they had two kids: their son Jack born in 2001, and their daughter Mary. Even though the couple's union seemed picture-perfect, the duo called it quits in 2011 after being together for 11 years.

Fans were devasted to learn the couple had gone their separate ways. According to Mary's mother, Lisa Linde, their divorce was due to irreconcilable differences. On the other hand, Mary's father stated that he and Linde got together when they were young and eventually grew apart.

In an interview, Mary's father admitted it wasn't easy separating from Linde. According to him, he was not only separating from his then-wife but also from his children and the bond he had with them.

Even though Mary's parents are divorced, they remain close and co-parent their children. In fact, occasionally, they go on vacations together. Despite raising his kids separately, Mary's father embraces fatherhood and is proud of his parenting skills.

He once shared a sweet tribute to his children on Instagram on Father's day and stated that he was proud of being a father. He captioned the post:

“My favorite holiday of the year celebrates what I am proud of most in life. Being a father."

Mary Is Her Father's Only Daughter

James Marsden's daughter isn't the only child of the "Dead To Me" star; she has other siblings — an older brother and a younger half-brother. Mary's older brother Jack was born on February 1, 2001.

Unlike Mary, who prefers life out of the spotlight, Jack has made several appearances at red-carpet events. He has also followed in his parents' footsteps and ventured into the entertainment industry. Though he didn't pursue acting, he majored in modeling and music.

Mary's younger half-brother Luca Costa-Marsden was born on December 14, 2012, to James and his ex-girlfriend Rose Costa. Mary's father adores his youngest child, who is also close to his older siblings despite the age difference.
