Alanah 'Alannah' Morley Was Edge's First Wife – Inside Their Marriage

Alanah Morley, Edge's ex-wife, married the famous wrestler a year after they met. However, their marriage soon fell apart, and Alanah Morley has since steered clear of the limelight while her ex-husband has found love again and started a family.

When Morely met her future husband for the first time, she was introduced to the world of wrestling— and Edge— through her brother, who is also a wrestler. Later in life, their paths crossed again, and it did not take long for them to marry.

However, Edge revealed that their marriage quickly fell apart, and the former couple went their separate ways. And while he had remarried and welcomed children, Morely has been media-shy since her relationship with Edge.

Alanah's First Date with Her Ex-husband Was a Disaster

When Morely first met her ex-husband, he humorously described her as a "sixteen-year-old Madonna wannabe." Fast forward a few years, and Morely and Edge's paths crossed again in Milwaukee in 1998, and she had matured into a "good-looking blonde." Her ex-husband shared:

"There was an instant connection... we started dating in June, which leads me to the somewhat disastrous story of our first date."

Days before Morely's first date with her ex-husband, he performed a trick during a wrestling match that left him with a cyst by his tailbone. As if things could not get worse, a day before their date, he underwent surgery that resulted in him wearing a maxi pad to help with the bleeding.

On June 6, 1998, Edge arrived at one of Morely's friend's homes for dinner and a movie in his 1988 Izuz Trooper, looking flushed and walking slowly from his injury. But it was only the beginning of the disastrous date.

Morley's friend had two cats, to which her ex-husband was allergic. After a dinner consisting of beans, chillis, and corn, Morely's ex-husband was battling the discomfort of the maxi pad he had to wear, red and itchy eyes from the cats, and an upset stomach from their supper. He said:

"I was stuck in a small one-bedroom apartment with two virtual strangers. So I couldn't drop my gastral bombs without them smelling it."

They watched a movie, and once it ended, Edge was a ball of pain and exhaustion. However, after Morely offered for him to stay the night, her ex-husband spent the evening trying to keep his farts in. Despite his effort, Morely's ex-husband jokingly revealed that he had farted the entire night about a year later.

Alanah's Ex Proposed to Her after a Year Together

Although their first date was one for the books, it didn't take long for Morely and her ex to fall in love. After a year and a half of dating, her ex felt it was the right time to pop the question.

They were on a cruise to the Bahamas when Edge got down on one knee and proposed, and Morely said yes. After signing a year-long lease for work, Morely and her ex moved to Paradise Island in the Bahamas for a year. And amidst his busy schedule, the lovebird found time to tie the knot.

Alanah's Marriage Fell Apart

During their marriage, Morely and her ex-husband experienced a lot of ups and downs. He tried to stay busy with work but soon realized he was unhappy with his home life. Edge said:

"I really don't want to go into details of why and how our marriage fell apart— it just did. I came to realize that I was too young to be this miserable... I realized she was not the woman I wanted to spend the rest of m life with, and I couldn't ignore that feeling anymore."

After undergoing another surgery, Morely's husband shared that he had asked her for a divorce. However, he still maintained a relationship with her brother.

Alannah's Subsequent Fate Is Unknown

Since her relationship with Edge, Morely has lived out of the public eye. While the state of her love life is unclear, her ex-husband entered his second marriage to Beth Phoenix in 2016.

Edge joined fellow wrestlers The Undertaker, Dwayne Johnson, and Ric Flair when he became a father and welcomed his first daughter, Lyric, in 2013. "As soon as you hold that baby and you go, 'We created this,' it's a bond for life…," he said. Their second daughter, Ruby, was Born in 2016.
