Who Is the Actress Who Plays Rose Cameron in "Outer Banks?"

Before taking her husband's last name, the actress was known as Caroline Freedlund. She was born in 1991 and had Swedish ancestry.

Caroline was a dancer for many years before pursuing a career in show business. Her fascination with the story behind ballet productions sparked her interest in acting. "It felt like a natural progression into acting," she said of her transition from a ballerina to an actress.

Dancing and acting were similar in Caroline's eyes – they both involved rhythm, beats, and music. "When I am learning the blocking of a scene, I learn it in my body the same way I learned choreography as a dancer," she said.

Caroline, who signed with Abrams Artist Agency, is known for her roles in "Stranger Things" and "The Resident." However, her on-screen debut happened when she appeared in the 2016 series "Atlanta." She later landed parts in "Good Behavior," "Sleepy Hollow," and "The Walking Dead."

Besides drama, the show includes romance and mystery that keeps viewers interested. Caroline is just as invested in the "Outer Banks" storyline as its audience. When asked about the similarities between her and her character, all she can say is they both love clothes.

However, the actress has much to share about the best part of being included in the cast. She is most grateful for the incredible family she has on set. Caroline said:

"Working in television, as glamorous as it may seem, can be pretty grueling. Often, you're shooting really long hours. You're away from your family. So having the support of a loving cast and crew can really make or break the experience."

Caroline also praised costume designer Emmie Holmes for helping the cast get into character by dressing like their screen roles. The actress described Holmes' style as elegant and coherent.

Besides Holmes, Caroline credits the show's creators, Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, for curating a beautiful story incorporating the best elements of other excellent series.
