Yoo Hye-Yeon, Psy's wife, inspired the rejuvenation of the South Korean's musical career following his debut album in 2001. Despite her husband's fame, Yoo Hye-Yeon steers clear of the limelight, and the married couple shares a musical background.

Following the widespread success of his 2010 hit, "Gangnam Style," — named after the neighborhood he was raised in— Hye-Yeon's husband became a famous artist, and his large fan base took an interest in the woman he has called his wife for over ten years.

In charge of her husband's diet and wardrobe, Hye-Yeon also balances a career and motherhood. However, Hye Yeon's relationship with her husband has not always been smooth sailing, as her husband was redrafted into the army shortly after they became parents for the first time.

Yoo Hye-Yeon Is the Mother of Psy's Twins

Hye-Yeon was born on March 10, 1977, in South Korea, the same year her husband, whose real name is Park Jae Sang, was born. The daughter of a successful businessman, Hye-Yeon's father, was arrested and jailed for fraud.

However, he reinvented himself as a successful businessman with a construction company, to which Hye-Yeon is an heir. After graduating high school, Hye-Yeon enrolled at Yonsei University in Seoul, where she studied music and majored in cello.

Aside from running a children's education business in Suwon Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea, Hye-Yeon is also a fashionista and designs and creates her husband's costumes.

Hye-Yeon's husband's career in the music industry began in 2001 when he released his debut album, "Psy From the Psycho World." However, that same year, he was arrested for drug possession and, as a result, could not attend his grandfather's funeral.

Over the years, Hye-Yeon's husband released six studio albums and made a name for himself. However, from 2003 to 2005, his career was halted when he served a mandatory two years in the military.

But in 2007, Hye-Yeon's husband was redrafted as he did not serve the entire term of his time in the army. His departure to the military came only a year after Hye-Yeon gave birth to the couple's children, twin daughters.

After his arrest and service in the army, Hye Yeon's husband made a comeback in his music career after his wife encouraged him to switch entertainment agencies. In 2010, he joined YG Entertainment, whose CEO, Yang Hyun-suk, had old ties with the singer.

In 2012, Hye Yeon's husband released his 6th album, "PSY's Best 6th Part 1," which included his hit song, "Gangnam Style."

Alongside designing her husband's costumes, Hye-Yeon also acted as his manager by supervising his diet, arranging business meetings, and coordinating his performance schedule. Her husband shared:

During the height of his success and popularity, Hye-Yeon's husband faced another hurdle— a drinking problem. The singer made headlines when he opened up about his drinking and shared, "If I'm happy, I'm drinking. If I'm sad, I'm drinking."

In April 2013, Hye-Yeon's husband was also surrounded by controversy when South Korea banned his "Gentleman" music video, and a video of an anti-American performance from the singer surfaced in December.

Despite her husband's fame— and a career that saw him sign to the same company as Justin Bieber— Hye-Yeon leads a private life in South Korea, where she lives with her husband and children. Her husband said:

Her husband had over three million followers on Instagram at the time of writing, and when he was not working, he spent quality time with his wife and children.
