Bruce Willis' Wife Gives Update after Her Plea to the Media: 'My Husband's Quality of Life Is of Utmost Importance'
Bruce Willis' wife, Emma Heming Willis, defends the movie star from what she feels is the inconsideration of the media. She shared two videos expanding on the behavior of the paparazzi and their employers after Bruce's coffee date with his friends.
Emma Heming Willis recently shared a video on Instagram requesting that paparazzi and media houses remain distanced while trying to get exclusive photos of her husband, Bruce Willis, who is now living with dementia. The video has hit many publications since.
Yesterday, Emma took to Instagram again to make herself heard by the media companies reporting her video. She mentioned that the companies seemingly supporting her request are the same companies sharing the pictures and videos of her husband, and she declared no intention to go head-to-head with the media.
During the video that Emma posted yesterday, she thanked everyone for their support following her initial video, which was, in fact, an attempt at creating awareness about dementia. She addressed the situation and her continued devotion to giving her husband a good life.
She wrote a caption saying she does not expect her words to make a difference as she understands the media "food chain." However, the quality of her husband's life is paramount.

Emma Heming Willis Asked the Media Not to Follow Her Husband
Emma began her first video with a clear disclaimer that she was recording herself to raise awareness about dementia. She then empathized with other caretakers of people living with dementia, speaking about the difficulty involved in taking the patient out into the world safely.
She then spoke directly to the paparazzi hounding her husband in public, asking them to keep their distance. Emma gracefully said, "For the video, people, please don't be yelling at my husband and asking him how he's doing and whatever."
The incident that triggered Emma's video was a coffee date that Bruce went on with a couple of his friends. Emma mentioned that there needs to be more education about dementia as the paparazzi did not handle themselves as she felt fit. Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia just weeks before.
After Emma spoke at length about what she felt was wrong with the paparazzi's behavior and that of the media houses they represent, a fan commented under her post with words that the "Die Hard" star's wife shared to her Instagram story in agreement. Embedded below.

Bruce's family announced in a statement his diagnosis. He was previously diagnosed with aphasia—a speech-hindering illness—but received a specified diagnosis later. The family's statement also revealed that from their understanding of who Bruce is, he would advocate for people with dementia if he could.
Last March, Bruce's wife, Emma, and ex-wife, Demi Moore, revealed that the movie star would be retiring from acting at 67. He will be remembered for his blockbuster roles in movies like "Pulp Fiction" with the single father of two, John Travolta, who also retired at 67 to care for his children.
