Cheslie Kryst Wasn't Known to Be Married or Dating Anyone – She Never Shared Her Private Life
Cheslie Kryst was successful in her own right and established her career in different fields. Even though she lived her life in the spotlight, she kept her personal life under wraps, prompting fans' eagerness to know about her love life and Cheslie Kyrst's husband–if she had one.
Cheslie rose to fame after being crowned Miss USA 2019. While many of her fans knew her as a beauty pageant title holder, her job at Extra earned her two Daytime Emmy nominations.
Her life was cut short at a time when her career was at its peak. Cheslie worked as a TV correspondent for Extra and was also a model, beauty pageant winner, and attorney.
She was born in April 1991 in Michigan to April Simpkins and Rodney Kryst. Cheslie began her pageantry career in high school. She won Miss Freshman at North-western High School and later the pageant title for Miss Fort Hill High School.
The Michigan native took a break from pageantry for a few years before coming back, and after trying twice, she was crowned Miss North Carolina. Besides her professional career, what was her life like behind the curtains? And who was Cheslie Kryst's husband?
Simpkins also dismissed claims that her family had persuaded Cheslie to get back into practicing law after she started working as a correspondent on Extra TV.
Cheslie Wasn't Known to Be Dating or Married
Even though Cheslie lived in the public eye, she kept her love life private. She was unmarried and never dated anyone publicly nor shared her relationship status with fans on social media.
Before her untimely death, the daughter of former Mrs. North Carolina seemed focused on expanding her career. While Cheslie excelled in different fields, she followed in her mother's footsteps and started her career as a beauty pageant competitor in her teens.
Cheslie Never Shared Her Private Life on Instagram
Cheslie was active on social media and had a massive following. On her Instagram page, all she shared were work-related posts, and occasionally, she would share sneak peeks of her lifestyle. But she never posted anything about her love life.
The former Miss USA 2019 was passionate about her job. For instance, she once shared in an IG post how she travelled from Puerto Rico to Atlanta to interview Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt about "Jungle Cruise," an adventure film in which the two actors co-starred.
Cheslie Passed Away In 2022
When Cheslie died after committing suicide in January 2022, the news of her death shocked her family, friends, the global pageant community, and her fans.
Following Cheslie's death, her mother opened up when she appeared on the “Red Table Talk” show about how her daughter struggled with depression, and she had noticed the symptoms in her early 20s. However, she revealed that she hadn't realized how severe the symptoms were because her daughter was full of life.
Simpkins then pointed out to host Jada Pinkett Smith that she occasionally noticed her daughter's smiles seemed a little forced and concluded that maybe she was under stress.
She disclosed that her daughter was negatively affected by the constant online criticism she faced after winning Miss USA. By sharing Cheslie's story, Simpkins hoped she would encourage people to be kinder.
Simpkins also dismissed claims that her family had persuaded Cheslie to get back into practicing law after she started working as a correspondent on Extra TV.
Cheslie's mother then stated how her family was trying to heal with the help of a therapist after her daughter's death, but the grief remained. Cheslie died by suicide at the age of 30.
