Victoria Principal, well-known for playing Pamela on "Dallas," once revealed that when she turned 50, she wished to make a change in her life. So the actress took the bold step of quitting Hollywood.

By 2023, the actress was now a single woman, and since 2012, she was living on a ranch. Principal, 73 in 2023, once dated the actor and singer Andy Gibb, who was born on March 5, 1958, and sadly died unexpectedly on March 10, 1998.

Her farm, outside of Los Angeles, was where she's lived alone since losing Gibb at age 30. The actress housed and rehabilitated animals that she rescued at her property. On March 5, 2023, Principal shared an Instagram video which showed the bouquet of roses she'd left on the beach near her home.

The flowers were placed next to the letters "AG," which stood for Gibb's initials, that had been written in the sand. The commemoration, which she did yearly, was done in honor of Gibb's birthdate and the day of his death, with all the roses being red but one that was white.

Someone else thought the actress must've loved Gibb very much, and that they knew the feeling. The fan revealed how they'd lost the love of their life in 1986 and still had a ritual done on his birthday.

Another follower was so touched by the commemoration that it brought a tear to their eyes. The fan described Principal as an "incredible human being," while someone else believed the late star would always be with the actress and thought the yearly ceremony was a beautiful thing she did.

The touching ritual showed how much the elderly star still felt for Gibb despite him passing away decades ago. It brought to question how in love the pair were for her to still remember him after all these years.

In a 1981 newspaper article, Principal confessed that Gibb was the only man she was interested in dating. The actress said he'd caused her to "pencil in" her social calendar, before explaining further what attracted her to him:

"I like a man who will let me be strong and capable in the areas where I am strong and capable."

However, the actor also allowed her to lean on him whenever she needed to. The star said she liked an iron hand in a kid glove, noting that she preferred if the glove was made of mink!

Gibb was 23 and Principal was 31 when they first met and fell hard for each other. However, Brad Lachman, a producer who worked with the actor revealed that when something wasn't going well between the couple, Gibb would be "devastated."

The newspaper article noted how "totally infatuated" Gibb was with the actress. He was so in love with Principal that all he wanted to talk about was her; however, his mistake was to smother the actress.

The star couldn't spend enough time with her, and when they were apart he'd phone her. At one point, Principal had to tell him to stop calling her while she was on the "Dallas" set because of how persistent he was.

Was Victoria and Andy’s Split the Reason for His Death at 30?

What partially caused Principal to break up with Gibb was that he'd started using illegal substances. The star said she did all she could to help him, and eventually gave him an ultimatum.

The actress told Gibb that he had to choose between his problem and her; however, he wasn't able to pick. After the pair had been together for only 13 months, their relationship ended, leading the actor to fall apart.

However, the truth was no one linked to the event had heard from the actor [Andy Gibb].

Gibb confessed he didn't have a care in the world at that point and he started using illegal substances around the clock, spending about $1,000 a day a day for his habit. At one point, he stayed awake and locked in his bedroom for two weeks!

His producers would call and send cars to pick him up for work but he refused to go. Principal's ex-boyfriend thought the main reason he fell from stardom was because of his relationship with the actress.

Gibb also failed to show up to the "American Movie Awards" after his break up. He even told the "Solid Gold" series producers not to expect him to come in for a shoot, and on the awards show he was scheduled to sing "Arthur's Theme."

On the morning of the day he died, Gibb arrived at John Radcliffe Hospital, complaining of suffering from chest pains. The actor sadly died on the same day, five days after he'd turned 30.

It was revealed that Principal's ex-boyfriend had suffered from an inflammation of the heart or myocarditis. The condition was worsened by the "Bee Gees" brothers' sibling's long-term substance abuse which fatally weakened his heart.
