Country mega-star Kenny Chesney was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on March 26, 1968. After graduating high school, he received his first guitar for Christmas and taught himself how to play it.
It was the beginning of a life-long passion for music. Throughout his college days, Chesney played and sang and even recorded an album that sold enough copies so he could buy a new guitar.
After college, Chesney moved to Nashville to pursue his dream of becoming a recording artist. Today, he is among the most successful country singers, with over 40 Top 10 singles and 20 studio albums.
But all his achievements became a footnote after his first and only marriage ended in an annulment, which led to the rumor that Chesney is gay.

Speculations about Kenny Chesney’s Sexuality Started after Split from Renée Zellweger
Chesney met Hollywood actress Renée Zellweger in January 2005, and on May 9, they tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
But the sudden romance ended just as suddenly, and in December 2005, Zellweger and Chesney filed for an annulment, citing the cause as "fraud." This word's use led to all the trouble. Zellweger said:
"It made me sad that somehow people were using that as a way to be cruel and calling someone gay as a pejorative, which has fateful consequences."
Chesney explained that the cause of "fraud" was the one he and Zellweger had thought would be the easiest and least harmful since the alternative causes for an annulment was being of unsound mind, already married, or married by force.

Chesney would later admit that his marriage to Zellweger ended because he wasn't ready for the commitment, but he refused to address the "gay" issue for years. He finally commented:
"I think people need to live their lives the way they want to, but I'm pretty confident in the fact that I love girls. I’ve got a long line of girls who could testify that I am not gay."
In an interview with Playboy, Chesney would confess that he had probably been with more than a hundred girls during his crazy college years and that he was definitely into women.
