Loretta Lynn's Friend and Assistant since 1982 Passed Away Mere Months after the Country Star
Loretta Lynn's passing was followed after a few months by the passing of her long-time business associate and friend, Tim Cobb. The announcement of his death was made on the country singer's page, and her granddaughter expressed her grief as well.
Loretta Lynn's family mourns the death of her longtime assistant and dear friend, Tim Cobb. The assistant has worked alongside Loretta for three decades, starting their partnership in 1982. The heartbreaking announcement on the singer's Instagram page revealed the upcoming honoring of Tim's life.
The statement spoke about the singer's love for her deceased assistant and that he was somewhat of a family member. The report also directed fans to gift Loretta's foundation, Give Butter, in honor of Tim's legacy.
The singer's foundation, Give Butter, mentioned in the statement announcing Tim passing, was launched to establish, preserve and promote awareness in the general public about the cultural contributions of Loretta and that of the country music genre.
Tim's passing was felt by other members of Loretta's family, including her daughter Tayla Lynn who took to Facebook to speak on the loss of the man she loved dearly. She shared several photos of herself with Tim and typed out a heartfelt caption to encapsulate her feelings.
She wrote, "He loved our family so much. We loved him so much. Memaw lived so long because he took such amazing care of her. He loved her so much. He did everything for everyone. He was selfless." Later in the caption, Tayla continued, "This one is not feeling too good, right. I think I've been in shock for a few hours."
Loretta's Facebook page broke the announcement that Tim had died on March 13, 2023. His responsibilities on Loretta's team included designing her performance costumes through the years.
Tim, with all of his generosity, donated several of Loretta's costumes designed by him, signed photographs, and performance shoes to the city of Lake City's museum.
Tim's ever so-welcomed contributions to the museum's inventory are treasured by the committee, as confirmed by committee member Brenda Hutchinson. The museum opens its doors on Wednesdays between 13:00 and 16:00.

Loretta, who lived a considerably fast-paced life, became a wife at 15, a mother the following year, and a grandmother in her early thirties. She became an icon of country music in the US, with a voice described by the NY Times as unmistakable.
One of her life achievements was being indoctrinated as a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient in 2013 by happily married former president of the United States, Barack Obama. Her twin daughters, Pasty and Peggy Lynn, have continued her legacy, performing as a duo named The Lynns.
Just a few days short of six months ago, Loretta was laid to rest after she died at her Hurricane Mills home in Tennessee. Her life span was a bountiful 90 years, and just six months later, her lifelong friend and assistant will be laid to rest too.
