Andrea Bocelli & His Wife's Shared Photos Appreciating a Maldivian Sunset
Andrea Bocelli and his wife, Veronica Berti, may have tied the knot after 12 years of dating, but they say their marriage began "effectively" the night they met. The couple recently marked their ninth wedding anniversary and enjoyed a vacation in the Maldives this month.
In a recent Instagram update from Andrea Bocelli, the world-renowned singer shared a thread of cinematic sunset photos depicting himself and his wife, Veronica Berti, enjoying an evening on the Maldivian beach. In the first image, Bocelli and Berti's shadowy silhouettes are pictured against a darkening sky.
Bocelli snaked his arm around Berti's waist in an embrace as she cradled his face. More stunning shadowy photos follow, including others depicting Bocelli with his back against a camera, sitting at a piano in a room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean.
Like Bocelli, Berti commemorated the vacation with a string of her own photos, with the first in Bocelli's post in full view. The first picture of Berti's post depicts her husband holding a hermit crab in his hand as she marveled over it with childlike wonder. She concluded her short thread with a photo of herself and Bocelli holding hands as they walked along the shore.
Bocelli and Berti met in 2002 when they fatefully found themselves at the same party. Berti was 18 at the time and was meant to be elsewhere when a friend informed her that Bocelli had called her to his table. It didn't take long for their chemistry to ignite.
A few months after they tied the knot, Bocelli recalled performing his first aria called "Occhi Di Fata" to Berti in a brief anecdote in The Guardian. Many witnessed the "wonderful moment" between the two, and that same night, they moved in together.
Bocelli, whose mother was misdiagnosed with appendicitis when she was pregnant with him, had recently divorced his wife of ten years, Enrica Cenzatti, with whom he shared two sons. He and Berti dated for twelve years before tying the knot in Tuscany, Italy, in March 2014.
Two years before, they had welcomed their daughter, Virginia. However, Bocelli, who shot one of his 2018 music videos in a church, didn't only develop a romantic relationship with Berti; she became another maternal figure in his boys' lives, a role she happily accepted. The pair also became business partners with a passion for music, as Berti became his manager.
