She participated in various sporting codes, including gymnastics and basketball, but her favorite was soccer which she eventually focused on in her later years at Woodbury High.

Caitlin continued to play the sport competitively in clubs and traveled to tournaments in Florida and Las Vegas. She made the varsity team as a freshman in college, winning the state championship in 2013. She was given a full athletics scholarship to attend Iowa State before switching to Mankato State University.

In her spare time, Caitlin works on her lifestyle blog called "Life with Mrs. T." Caitlin and Adam met through a mutual friend about 12 years ago. A friend who was a schoolmate of Adam at Minnesota State University recommended him to her during the summer break. She showed him pictures of Adam, but Caitlin admitted that she was uninterested, especially after revealing that he was a partier.

The difference in schools was also a big turnoff for Caitlin. However, her friend had also told Adam about her, and the football player began texting her on Facebook. Caitlin says she could tell that Adam was very interested in her from his persistence, even though they had never met. They eventually met in the fall of 2011.

However, the pair only began dating a year later as Caitlin refused to become his girlfriend despite his seemingly true intentions. She claimed that once she gave him a chance and listened to what he had to say, she realized he was a down-to-earth guy, and they had many things in common.

Adam and Caitlin dated for two years before taking their relationship to the next level. They got engaged and followed that with an exchange of vows in 2015. It was a busy few years for the Thielens as, in 2016, they welcomed their first child, Asher. They had another son Hudson in 2019 and a daughter Cora in 2021.
