Delora Sherleen Sinclair gave birth to her son, Mark, on July 18, 1967, in Alameda County, California, but she moved with her family to New York City.
It was in New York that Delora met and married theater director and theater manager Irving H. Vincent. She raised Vin with Irving in an artists' community in Greenwich Village.
Her son Mark took the name Vin Diesel as a stage name in honor of Irving, but it was his mom who inspired him to take fate into his own hands and produce his first movie.
It was also Delora who instilled in him the dedication to family that he translated onto the screen in his "Fast & Furious" franchise and has become his life's motto.
Delora Is an Astrologer
Her son and husband are into acting and producing, but Delora's interests and profession differ greatly. She is an astrologer and a psychologist.
It might have been foresight that led Delora to give her son the book "Feature Films at used Car Prices" by Rick Schmidt, which led him to make the 1995 film "Multi-Facial" for $3,000.
Delora's second boy has chosen to stay out of the spotlight as much as possible.
The young actor, struggling to get a break, found himself feted at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. It was the beginning of Vin's rise to superstardom, and maybe mom saw it all in his stars.
Delora's Son Is Never Shy to Pay Tribute to Her
Vin Diesel has often shown his admiration and affection for Delora on social media. On one occasion, he shared a snap of Delora alongside "Wonder Woman" actress Gal Gadot and captioned it:
"Happy birthday to the most wonderful woman I have ever known, my mother. I love you, mom."
On Mother's Day 2015, Vin shared a soft-light photograph of himself and Delora on Instagram and dedicated all his love to the woman who had raised him.
Vin Diesel Is Not Delora's Only Son
Some fans may not know it, but Vin Diesel has a fraternal twin brother, Paul. Delora's second boy has chosen to stay out of the spotlight as much as possible.
Vin slacked fan's curiosity by sharing a black-and-white snap of himself and Paul on their birthday and captioned it:
"Happy Birthday to my original twin brother Paul! I have watched you grow into such a wonderful dad and family man. You have made me proud every step of the way. We love you!"

Delora's Husband Is Not the Father of Her Children
Even though he raised Vin and his brother as his own, Irving Vincent, Delora's husband, is not the father of her sons. Neither Vin nor Paul has ever met their father.,
The actor has only revealed that his biological father is African American, like his stepfather, but it is to Irving that Vin owes his sense of community and belonging.

Delora Has Been Her Son's Red Carpet Date
Before he found Paloma Jimenez and started his own family, Vin would often take his mom as his +1 for glamorous red-carpet events instead of any number of Hollywood beauties.
One of these occasions was in 2017, the premiere of HBO's documentary film "Spielberg," at which Delora dazzled in a satiny Mao jacket striped in shades of blue, gold, and jade green.
