Mom Finds Out Daycare Employees Lock Her Son as Punishment 'Like He Was a Dog'

A mom is left furious after learning her son was isolated from the rest of the children at the daycare as punishment for crying. She claimed he was treated like an animal, while other parents spoke up about similar incidents regarding their own kids.

The childcare industry is a vital part of many communities, meant to provide a safe space for children to play, learn, and interact with one another while their parents are at work. It is meant to be run by professionals equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to properly care for children.

In one daycare, however, parents were stunned to find out about the inhumane way they punished disobedient children. Instead of applying gentle disciplinary techniques, they choose to lock them up behind a gate and isolate them from the rest of the children.

Heartbroken to See Her Child Suffering

No one likes seeing their child hurt. Parents always want what's best for their children and work day and night to make sure they get the best life experiences.

Working parents are often left with no choice but to leave their kids in daycare centers during weekdays, knowing they will be well taken care of by capable hands. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case for one mother.

Sara Gisela Martinez was heartbroken when she learned her son was being subjected to an unfavorable type of punishment at his daycare. In a video sent to her by a therapeutic assistant at the establishment, her son is seen sitting behind a locked gate, crying, while other kids are visibly running around outside the gate.

Horrified, Martinez realized her son was being treated like an animal in what was supposed to be a safe haven for him. "They locked him up like a dog!" she exclaimed

Hoping to hear a reasonable explanation from the daycare staff, she was told that the reason why they locked up her son was so "he wouldn't spread his crying to the other children."

The Family Demanded an Explanation

The seconds-long video was enough to stun the mom, who demanded an explanation from the daycare. She also decided to take matters into her own hands by posting the video on social media to shed light on the disturbing tactic the daycare used to discipline her son.

Hoping to hear a reasonable explanation from the daycare staff, she was told that the reason why they locked up her son was so "he wouldn't spread his crying to the other children." Because her son wouldn't stop crying, they thought locking him up would pacify him.

People on the Internet Showed Solidarity to the Mother

This explanation did not sit well with the mom, who believed the staff acted in an inhumane way. After posting the video on social media, she received the assurance she needed from other people who slammed the daycare for the way they treated the poor child.

To Martinez's surprise, more people complained about the same daycare center after the video went viral. At least eight other children suffered similar treatment from the establishment, and they all clamored for an investigation of the daycare.
