John Owen Lowe Thanks Fans for Making ‘Unstable’ One of the Most Watched Series on Netflix

John Owen Lowe and his father, Rob Lowe, are the stars of a hit Netflix series currently performing well on the streaming service. The pair collaborated in creating the series, and their real-life experience of being father and son translated perfectly on screen.

John Owen Lowe is an actor known for starring in "Holiday in the Wild" with his father. He shared a touching moment with his Instagram fans just over a day ago. The actor posted a picture of himself standing before a giant poster advertising a Netflix project he stars in with his father, Rob Lowe.

In the post, John is seen standing in Times Square in the presence of many passersby as the poster lights up his background. The poster advertised the show "Unstable." The actor looked proud to have reached this point in his career, and his fans were right on cue to show him support.

John captioned the post, "Thank you guys for making #unstable one of the most watched shows on Netflix currently (number 3, baby!!). Please please please check it out if you haven't, otherwise all of my childhood trauma will go to waste!" Fans gave their feedback on the soaring debut series.

One fan wrote, "I watched a few episodes last night..BRILLIANT!! Kudos, kiddo. Oh, and the old man is pretty rad too." Actress Gwenyth Paltrow said that she just started watching the show and added that she loves it, and the actor. A day-one fan of Rob said:

"I absolutely love your father since the beginning. We are talking Soda Pop Curtis beginning. But let me say this….John Owen you killed it!! You totally stole the show. My God you are hysterical! Tremendous cast. Love love love it!"

The series, led by the father and son acting duo, is a comedy about a biotechnology genius who has his son to rely on as he attempts to revive himself after enduring damaging grief. The son tries to establish himself outside of his father's shadow in an effort to rescue their family business.

Rob portrays the biotech genius named Ellis Dragon, and John is cast as his ambitious son, Jackson Dragon. Some other notable cast members are Sian Clifford, Aaron Branch, Elisabeth Moss's ex-husband Fred Armisen, and Soam Lall's wife, Christina Chang.

Speaking about his relationship with his parents as he grows, John said that his parents are becoming more like his friends, and they just always bug him. John, also a co-writer, gave his view on the show's feel, saying, "It's similar tonally to that Thursday-night NBC lineup of 'The Office,' 'Parks and Recreation,' and '30 Rock.'"

John has a few films and shows under his belt, as he is still considered an emerging actor. Still, he was cast as Luke in "Holiday in the Wild" in 2019 and was appointed by the writing department of "9-1-1: Lone Star" the following year.

After writing for "9-1-1: Lone Star" for two years, it is safe to say the experience has equipped him to co-write a series as good as "Unstable." The young actor's parents have been married for over three decades, and Rob credits his wife for changing his uncontrollable ways.
