"Sex and the City's" Kim Cattrall has been open about her attempts to remain youthful and healthy as she grows older, often sharing images of herself and speaking candidly about her diet and workouts. The actress noted that despite her iconic role in the famous show, she isn't much like her character.

Most people know Cattrall for portraying Samantha Jones in the hit HBO TV show, but in reality, the actress doesn't share many qualities with her lascivious on-screen counterpart. Although she works hard to maintain a good figure as she ages, Cattrall and Jones couldn't be more different.

Although Cattrall confessed that she might seem like a "100-watt sex bomb," she's really only trying to maintain her figure as she grows older. She revealed that she does this by following a strict diet, working out religiously, and managing her stress levels. She joked that she has "been on a diet since 1974."

Cattrall didn't think she would be getting into a relationship any time soon after her first three marriages fell through.

The actress opened up about how she maintains her health as she grows older, saying she prefers exercises that aren't as high-intensity. Past injuries have taught her to look after her body and take things slow. She stays in shape with "physio yoga" and long, brisk walks.

It seems the dieting has paid off. Numerous online fans recently praised Cattrall for looking breathtaking at the age of 66. The recognition came after the actress shared two photos of herself at the Manfred Thierry Mugler exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

Fans took to Instagram, writing uplifting messages in the vein of, "Wow! You look beautiful," and "Looking stunning honey. What a Queen you are." One of Cattrall's fans wrote admiringly, "You are so special, you shine but you shine so pretty! I love you my beautiful sun."

Cattrall previously showed off her ever-youthful physique in a swimsuit. She posted a snapshot of herself in a brown swimsuit on June 3, 2022, and the post was received with boundless enthusiasm. One person exclaimed, "Gorgeous!!! Peerless!!!"

After three marriages, two divorces, and one annulment, Cattrall was in no hurry to return to dating. She described herself as "a mother" without any kids, although that might change in the future. Initially, she was "not really looking for a man," but the actress finally found love with a younger guy.

How Did Kim Cattrall Meet Her Boyfriend and What Is Their Relationship Like?

Cattrall didn't think she would be getting into a relationship any time soon after her first three marriages fell through. Nonetheless, love snuck up on her without her expecting it. In 2016, she met the man she would be spending the next six years of her life with.

Cattrall also shared that not having kids seemed like she was missing out on an integral part of life.

Cattrall met Russell Thomas (whom she refers to as "Russ") while he was working at the BBC. The two hit it off and went out for dinner a few times, getting to know each other. Things took off when Thomas decided to go to Vancouver to be with Cattrall. They haven't left each other's sides since.

The two share a heritage since Cattrall was born in Liverpool, while Thomas is a Kent native. They've made a life for themselves in Canada, where the actress grew up, and the "Mannequin" star mentioned that life with Thomas is simple and "comfortable."

Despite their 14-year age gap, Cattrall and Thomas are deeply in love. They celebrated six years together in 2022, and Cattall marked the milestone with an Instagram post of them toasting. The actress confessed in an interview, "I love him. And he was worth waiting for."

Does Kim Cattrall Have Kids and Why Did She Call Herself "A Mother"?

Over the course of her life and throughout her past relationships, Cattrall has remained adamant that she would not have children. The actress has spoken out about her refusal to have kids, saying it has always been a conscious choice.

Cattrall has experienced moments when she wondered whether she should have kids. Still, after genuinely looking at her life and considering what she inherently wants her life to be, she has always decided against having kids of her own.

Cattrall confessed that her childhood fantasy was to have countless dogs and as many children. But, like most things, her dreams changed as she grew older. By the time she reached her mid-30s, everyone close to her was settling down with a partner and bringing little ones into the world while Cattrall was still looking for a suitable partner.

During this time, she seriously thought about the possibility of having children. Societal pressure, peer pressure, and the threat of her biological clock counting down all played on her mind. She considered alternative fertilization methods and knew that if her mom could raise four kids mostly on her own, then so could she.

Cattrall also shared that not having kids seemed like she was missing out on an integral part of life. So many people had enthused her about the love parents have for their children, saying it's a bond unlike any other that the actress thought she would never have something similar unless she had kids. She recalled:

"It's incredible that the female body has such power—the gift of giving life. I wanted to know that power and fall in 'unconditional love' with a child. No one could ever describe that love to me except to say, 'It'll happen to you when you see your baby in your arms.'"

After deep introspection, Cattrall realized most of the feelings egging her on to have kids came from external pressures while she wasn't ready to be a mother. So, the debate came to a conclusion, and she has stuck with her choice to this day.

Like the childless Diggy Simmons, Cattrall has chosen to focus her energy on her career. She worked closely with some of her previous partners to produce creative content. She affirmed, "I am a mother who continues to give birth to ideas and ways of experiencing life that challenge the norm."
