Olympia Shields Is a Math Teacher – Facts about Brooke Shields' Half-Sister
Olympia Shields grew up in a big family with step and half-siblings. However, she chose a career path entirely different from her actor sister, Brooke, and is a math teacher at her alma mater.
Olympia Shields is the younger half-sister of "Blue Lagoon" actress Brooke Shields. Olympia was born a while after her father, Frank Shields, divorced his first wife, Teri, and married her mother, Diana "Didi" Lippert.
Unlike her older sister, Brooke, who became an entertainer known for appearing in films such as "Endless Love," "Speed Zone," and "An American Love," Olympia did not pursue a career in acting, choosing instead to devote herself to teaching. According to her LinkedIn profile, Shields is a math teacher at Palm Beach Day Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Olympia Shields Is the Youngest Child in the Family
Born to businessman Frank Shields and his second wife Didi, Olympia is the family's youngest child and boasts several step and half-siblings. According to Brooke's book "There Was A Little Girl: The Story of My Mother and Me," Didi had two children, Diana Auchincloss Cunningham, and Thomas "Tom" Gore Auchincloss.
After marrying Frank, the pair welcomed Marina, Cristiana, and the youngest, Olympia. Francis also became a stepdad to Didi's children.

Didi and Frank married at the Dana Chapel at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in April 1970. The bride's stepfather walked her to meet her new husband, even as she turned heads with her pale mauve gown with long full sleeves and a white satin ribbon sash.
After the ceremony, performed by the church's minister, Reverend Dr. David H. C. Read, the pair went for their honeymoon at the Tamboo private club on Great Harbor Cay in the Berry Islands.
Olympia Shields Works at Her Alma Mater
Olympia graduated from Palm Beach Day Academy in 1997 and, after that, attended Vanderbilt University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Child Development. She then joined Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development for her Master of Education in Mathematics.
Olympia has vast experience in the field as a mathematics enthusiast and has dedicated her life to learning and teaching the subject. She worked as a mathematics specialist before becoming the Chair of the Mathematics Department at Stephen Gaynor School in 2012.
In 2015, the energetic educator (much like Jillian Bynes) left her job at the New York City school to teach math to students at her alma mater. For her, the new job was a full circle moment as she recalled saying she always wanted to be like her teacher Mrs. Close when she grew up:
"Which is funny because she's one of the teachers I work with today."
Olympia always knew her passion lay in helping kids, and all through high school, she worked summer jobs at a camp for kids with emotional and behavioral disorders. She says she saw firsthand how the resources and services provided helped many kids, and now it is her time to give back.
Her work ethic is admirable, and she revealed that her role model is her late father, who taught her the importance of family, being grounded, and having a solid moral character.
Olympia Shields' Personal Life
Even as she takes pride in a fulfilling career, Olympia's personal life is just as successful. She married Brooks Bishop at the Pink Sands Resort in Harbor Island in April 2017 in a small ceremony attended by only their closest friends and family.
Her husband is the Vice President of Business Development at UmbrellaOne, a national janitorial facilities maintenance company.
Olympia Was the Ring Bearer at Brooke Shields' Wedding
Growing up, Brooke always had a good relationship with her stepmom Didi and her step-siblings and would always get excited when there was an addition to their family because it meant she would have someone new to play with.
Over the years, she has maintained an excellent relationship with Olympia, who acted as a ringbearer at her wedding. The two have maintained a loving relationship, and she lovingly calls her sister "Brookie."
